A new anime “Given: Uragawa no Sonzai”, which depicts the story of Mafuyu and Ritsuka behind the scenes in “Given” (movie), has been announced along with a live-action drama adaptation.

“Given” is a BL manga by Kizu Natsuki serialized in Shinshokan’s “Chéri+” since the 2013 Spring Issue. Centering on the four members of a rock band, the popular series depicts their love lives and their growth. It was initially broadcast in Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” slot from July to September 2019, and “Given” (film) was released in August 2020.

The new anime “Given: Uragawa no Sonzai” depicts the high school student members Mafuyu and Ritsuka facing their own problems and supporting each other, behind the conflicts between Haruki, Akihiko, and Ugetsu.
The key visual featuring the two of them playing music on the school’s stairs with a gentle light cast on them symbolizes the relationship between them.

It was also announced that a live-action drama will be created for the video streaming service FOD. Uenoyama Ritsuka will be played by Suzuki Jin, Satou Mafuyu by Sanari, Kaji Akihiko by Inowaki Kai, and Nakayama Haruki by Yanagi Shuntarou. The new anime “Given: Uragawa no Sonzai” will be included in the bonus DVD of the limited edition of the”Given” manga vol. 7, which will be released on December 1, 2021.
