The third performance of the new sensation reading dorama project “READING MUSEUM” (commonly known as “Remu”), directed by Daisuke Namikawa, “Deadlocked Detectives: The worst closed room in the history of a million detective cities” had been held. On the second day of the performance on May 16, 2021, Eguchi Takuya, Yasumoto Hiroki, Yashiro Taku, and Enoki Junya performed the original escape dorama of four talented detectives.
“Deadlocked Detectives: The worst closed room in the history of a million detective cities” is a new type of reading dorama in which the storyline is determined according to the results of the audience’s survey.
The stage began with Eguchi Takuya, who plays the main character Shigemura, appearing in a detective suit in a set that reproduces a sphere with no exit.
Yasumoto Hiroki as the middle-aged detective Mochida, Yashiro Taku as the rough detective Hino, and Enoki Junya as the talented detective Nagare, who are also trapped in the sphere, will work on various plans to escape.
While searching for an escape method, Shigemura’s behavior was selected in a survey, and Eguchi decided to blur with “full power Shimoneta”. Yasumoto, who saw the situation, invited laughter with a light exchange such as re-requesting dirty jokes from Eguchi.
In addition, while explaining the different ability “detective skills” that each detective has, Yasumoto reacts with excessive acting to Hino’s ability to explode when he called his name. At one moment Yashiro unintentionally burst into laughing to see Yasumoto.
Meanwhile, Nagare, played by Enoki, calmly and steadly continued to spit on Shigemura and Hino, who couldn’t think properly, and laughed from the audience.
Then, based on Hino’s detective skills, Mochida suspects that Hino is a “Red Mouse” which is widely feared as an explosive demon . When Mochida takes out a pistol with his own detective skill and points the muzzle at Hino, there is an option that greatly influences the story.
The story was a shocking development in which Yasumoto’s Mochida died as a result of the viewer’s choice.
After that, Shigemura’s actions were entrusted to the selection of the audience seats for Hino and Nagare, who are dueling to settle the fate, and the story had an unexpected ending.
After the main story, Namikawa Daisuke, the director of this performance, appeared as a surprise. The unexpected appearance caused big applause from the audience. When he was asked about his impressions of the performance in the after-talk, Yasumoto showed his passion, saying, “I hope we can deliver entertainment that will energize everyone,” and Eguchi also thanked the customers and commented with a laugh, “I remember everyone who chose the route with very dirty jokes!!”.
Then, Namikawa Daisuke announced that the 4th “Ikebukuro Night Owl Tale’s 2” will be held on July 24 and 25, 2021. Moreover, it has been announced that Namikawa Daisuke, Shimono Hiro, Okamoto Nobuhiko, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, and Uchida Yuma will appear in the second performance of the series. The venue was filled with joyful applause by this news, and the performance ended.
