In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the TV anime “HAIKYU!!”, the “Anime ‘HAIKYU!!’ 10th Anniversary -Connecting- Project” has been launched. Various plans such as holding a 10th-anniversary exhibition and selling commemorative goods aim to connect the work with its fans.

Illustrations and messages of celebration from the original author Furudate Haruichi, as well as Murase Ayumu, the voice actor of Shoyo Hinata, and Ishikawa Kaito, the voice actor of Kageyama Tobio, have also arrived.

“HAIKYU!!” by Furudate Haruichi started serialization in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump” in February 2012. It became a cornerstone of sports manga, gaining popularity with its passionate drama about high school students dedicated to volleyball. The series concluded its serialization after 8 and a half years in July 2020, with a total circulation of 60 million copies for all 45 volumes. The TV anime, which began airing on MBS and TBS networks in 2014, also captivated many fans and viewers until its fourth season, “HAIKYU!! TO THE TOP”.

Furthermore, on February 16 of this year, “HAIKYU!! The Battle of the Garbage Dump,” a movie adaptation, was released nationwide. The film made a rocket start with a box office revenue of 2.23 billion yen and an attendance of 1.52 million people in the first three days. As of 42 days after its release, the box office revenue reached 8.26 billion yen, with an attendance of 5.22 million people, and continues to be a major hit.

April 6 marks the memorable day when the first episode of the anime’s first season was broadcast 10 years ago. On April 6, 2024, 10 years later, the “Anime ‘HAIKYU!!’ 10th Anniversary -Connecting- Project” was launched under the theme of “Connecting”, aiming to connect the 10 years of history and the fans with the anime “HAIKYU!!”.

Firstly, a luxurious logo appropriate for the 10th anniversary and the first installment of the “Connecting School Visual”, featuring Hinata Shoyo and Kageyama Tobio from Karasuno High School, and Kozume Kenma and Kuroo Tetsuro from Nekoma High School, have been released. More releases of the “Connecting School Visual” are scheduled in the future.

Additionally, a special exhibition titled “HAIKYU!! Anime 10th Anniversary Commemorative Exhibition Full Sensory EXHIBITION” will be held, allowing fans to experience the series in a realistic and immersive way. The TOHO animation STORE has started selling 10th-anniversary commemorative goods such as high school jerseys, uniforms, and banner face towels.

Furthermore, a finale event is scheduled for 2025 marking the end of the 10th anniversary. Various plans will be developed throughout the year for fans to enjoy the festival of the 10th anniversary together, so stay tuned for further announcements.
