Nosaka Lab’s second music reading of “Sherlock Holmes,” “Sherlock Holmes #2,” will be performed at Iino Hall in Tokyo on September 10 and 11. Visuals of the cast, including Yamadera Koichi, Mizushima Yu, Kotobuki Minako, Yamaguchi Kappei, and Otsuka Akio, have now been released.
“Nosaka Lab” is a long-term project initiated in 2021 under the leadership of popular director Nosaka Minoru, which carefully adapts masterpieces of mysteries from around the world one by one for the stage.
“Sherlock Holmes” by Arthur Conan Doyle is a work that is being read worldwide and known as “The bestseller after the bible”. In 2021, 130 years after Holmes first appeared in England’s “The Strand” Magazine, Nosaka Lab will present the first performance of the musical reading of “Sherlock Holmes”. The first performance of “Holmes” was held and was highly acclaimed.
“Sherlock Holmes #2” is the second installment of the “Sherlock Holmes” series. While the famous duo of Yamadera Koichi as the great detective Sherlock Holmes and Mizushima Yu as his partner John H. Watson stays the same, this year’s production will feature new actors Kotobuki Minako, Yamaguchi Kappei, and Otsuka Akio. From the “Sherlock Holmes” series, which includes four full-length novels and 56 short stories, the program will deliver three short stories, “The Man with the Twisted Lip,” “The Adventure of the Engineer’s Thumb,” and “The Bachelor Aristocrat,” from the “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” short story series.
In addition to the performances by the splendid cast and original music by musician Yamanaka Atsushi, the brilliant and classical costumes that color the world of 19th century London are also noteworthy.
The Nosaka Lab music reading “Sherlock Holmes #2,” featuring voice actors Yamadera Koichi, Mizushima Yu, Kotobuki Minako, Yamaguchi Kappei, and Otsuka Akio, will be performed at Iino Hall in Tokyo on September 10 and 11.
