The fourth season of the “Bungo Stray Dogs” TV anime will begin airing in January 2023. In addition, the first promotional video, visuals for international audiences, and new cast information including Akio Otsuka and Takehito Koyasu were also announced.
The original story of “Bungo Stray Dogs” is based on the comic of the same title by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa that started serialization in the January 2013 issue of “Young Ace.”
Set in Yokohama, the series depicts action battles of “outstanding geniuses,” which are real-life literary giants such as Nakajima Atsushi, Dazai Osamu, and Akutagawa Ryunosuke. It is a blockbuster series that has been adapted into anime, stage performances, and various other media forms.
Along with the announcement of Season 4, the production team released the first promotional video and the visual for international audiences.
The video depicts a new enemy that stands in the way of the Armed Detective Agency, which overcame the “cannibalism” operation by fighting together with the Port Mafia.
The new cast for Season 4 was also announced.
Akio Otsuka will play Ochi Fukuchi, the commander of the “Hound Dogs,” the military police’s most powerful special forces unit. Makoto Koichi will play Teruko Okura, the deputy commander of the force. Takehito Koyasu will play Nikolai G., a member of the “Tenjin Goketsu” and associate of Fyodor, and Takeshi Kusao will play Mushitaro Oguri, an expert in intelligence operations and collaborator of Fyodor.
