Information about the new characters and cast members from TV anime series “Ascendance of a Bookworm” have been released. Morikawa Toshiyuki, Umehara Yuuichirou, and Ishiya Haruki have been selected to voice the knights of the same chivalric order. Comments from each cast member have also arrived.

“Ascendance of a Bookworm” is originally a light novel written by Kazuki Miya and illustrated by Shiina Yuu, which was adapted into the first part of a TV anime airing in Oct. 2019.
The story follows a female college student who dies just before becoming a librarian and then awakens in the body of a soldier's daughter named Main in a different world in medieval Europe. However, the books of that world are a luxury that the common people could not afford, and while struggling with a place where things don't go as expected, she decides to use her knowledge of her previous life to create her own books and realize her dream.

It has been announced that Morikawa Toshiyuki will play the role of Karstad, the Knight Commander of Ehrenfest, Umehara Yuuichirou as Damuel, and Ishiya Haruki as Shikikorza, both Knights of the same chivalric order.

The TV anime “Ascendance of a Bookworm” is being broadcast every Saturday on ABC and other TV channels.

Morikawa Toshiyuki (as Karstad)

Karstad is a very serious warrior and protector, but I'd like to see him and Ferdinand with a more rough character in the 2nd season. Everyone stay tuned for it!

Umehara Yuuichirou (as Damuel)

Congratulations on the start of the 2nd season of “Ascendance of a Bookworm”. I'm very happy to be able to play Damuel in the anime, which I voiced for the first time in a drama CD of the original novel. There are only a few scenes, but I hope to show the fans the real charm of this character.

Ishiya Haruki (as Shikikorza)

My name is Ishiya Haruki and I will be playing the role of Shikikorza. I've actually been following this work since it was serialized on the web, so I'm very happy and honored to be involved with it. In a sense, it was also a challenge for me to play this role. Please look forward to seeing how the character will be depicted in the story, and I hope that it will impress all fans, even just a little bit. Thank you, everyone!
