The results of the survey “Popularity vote of the light novels animated in 2019”, a survey asking “honto” members of the impressions of “the light novels which were animated in 2019” have been announced.
The most popular was “Ascendance of a Bookworm” which was popular with women. Coming in 2nd was “The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II” the spinoff of “Fate/zero”. 3rd place went to “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?” which is at the top of the sales ranking.
“Ascendance of a Bookworm” at 1st place is a Biblia Fantasy. The protagonist is reincarnated in a world where there are no books. She creates and prints books to become the first librarian in this world. It has moved up 2 ranks to the top from 3rd place in the “honto” sales ranking conducted in Dec. 2019.
“The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II” at 2nd place is a spinoff of “Fate/zero” which features Waver Velvet from the series. This novel also moved up 2 ranks from 4th place in the “honto” sales ranking.
“Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?” at 3rd place is a story of “Familias” woven by the young boy and written by the goddess. It is the first title to receive the grand prize of “GA Bunko”. Though it fell 2 positions from the top of the sales ranking, the numbers show how many male supporters it has.
Over 60% of the voters of “Ascendance of a Bookworm” at 1st place and “The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II” at 2nd place were women. The passion of the female fans hearing of the novels from the anime may have effected the ranking results.
