Jan.29 is Sakura Ayane-san’s birthday.
Sakura Ayane-san made her debut as a voice actress in the 2010s. She won the “Best Actress in Leading Role” and “Best Personality Award” in the 12th Seiyu Awards. And in 2019, she had voiced the main characters from various anime such as “the Quintessential Quintuplets”, and “Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkarion THE ANIMATION”.
At Anime!Anime!, we had an interview with her when the application game “Shoumetsu Toshi (Afterlost)” had an anime adaptation.
Thus, to celebrate her birthday, we had conducted a reader survey on “Who is your favorite anime character voiced by Mizuki Nana-san?” following the survey conducted last year. Within the period of Jan. 16 to Jan. 23, 2020, we had received a total of 500 responses.
The male to female ratio is 75% male and 25% female where the male is the majority. For the age distribution, 60% are of those aged 19 and below while 25% are in their 20’s and the votes mostly came from the youngsters.
■The top is Isshiki Iroha from “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU” where her cunning-ness was well-receivedl
The 1st place is Isshiki Iroha from “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU”. The support rating is approximately 15% and she ranked up from third place last year.
“Her level of cuteness is so addictive despite being an underclassman character”, and “She is able to voice both the kind and harsh voice, I especially love her “dere” situation” which depicts that this cunning character is quite popular.
There were a lot of comments on the character such as “Cunning”, and “I want these type of underclassman!”. Moreover, the 3rd season “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU 3” will be aired from Apr. 2020. The reason for being ranked up might be because of the production of the latest season.
2nd place is Tomori Nao from “Charlotte”. The support rating is approximately 12% and she maintained the same rank as last year.
We had received comments such as: “I love her strong sense of justice and her kindness when she cheered up her sad friend. She is a cool school council president!”, and “I think it’s nice that she showed various expressions such as anger, sadness, happiness, and grief”.
Her special way of talking had also left an impression: “The gap of her cuteness when she says her favorite phase ‘Hikuna!’ is good”, and “I love it and find it cute when she ends her sentence with ‘xx-su'”.
3rd place is Kokoa from “Is the order a rabbit?”. She ranked down from the 1st place last year but there is only one vote difference with the 2nd place.
“When we said about Ayaneru, it must be Kokoa. I think her optimistic and cheerful attitude had increase Kokoa’s charms”, “Her clumsy efforts to become an onee-chan (sister) is the best match with Sakura-san voice”, etc. depict that there is a lot of agreement that this character is an addictive character. “I knew Sakura-san from ‘Gochi Radio’. Kokoa is the one who brings to know about Sakura-san” which is a comment where he/she become a fan after listening to “Is the order a rabbit?” radio program.
■Let’s introduce the other commentary!!
Regarding Uraraka Ochako from “My Hero Academia”: “The voice fits perfectly with her energetic and cute appearance. Her appearance when she wanted to puke after overusing her Quirks is also cute and I was amazed that she was even able to voice that out”.
Regarding Nakano Yotsuba from “The Quintessential Quintuplets”: “She look like an air-headed character but somehow her unreliable personality had made a guy heart to throb. Ayaneru who was amazed to voice that Yotsuba perfectly is amazing!”.
Regarding Shimotsuka Mika from “PSYCHO-PASS”: “It was amazing that she was able to voice her with a different atmosphere in the 1st season, 2nd season and 3rd season”.
Regarding Hayasugi Hayato “Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion THE ANIMATION”: “This is a program that my family enjoys watching every week. We also enjoyed ourselves when we watch the movie” depict there is a vote for a boy role as well
Characters from 2019 anime such as Nakano Yotsuba from “The Quintessential Quintuplets” and Shimotsuka Mika from “PSYCHO-PASS”, which was not in the ranking last year, had appeared this year. It might be interesting to compare the current result with the last years.
