The anime based channel 「Animax」 has held the anime music festival 「ANIMAX MUSIX 2019 YOKOHAMA supported by SKY PerfecTV! 」. A total of 17 grand artists such as Ohashi Ayaka, GRANRODEO, Starlight Kukugumi, Mimori Suzuko, fripSide etc. had made an appearance.
「ANIMAX MUSIX」 is an anime music/concert event that first started in May 2009 and the concept is 「To deliver the charm of anime music throughout the world!」. This is the 10th time it was held in Yokohama Arena, Kanagawa.
The first performer was GRANRODEO who made an appearance for 「Setsuna no Ai」, the opening song of TV anime 『Bungou Stray Dogs』. After that, they performed 2 additional songs which were the opening song of the game 『Muv-Luv Alternative』, 「Once&Forever」, and the opening song of TV anime『Kuroko's Basketball』, 「The Other self」 which heated up the venue immediately and acted as the signal for the start of the Yokohama concert.
The first project corner was 「Koe dase！SELECTION」 (Let out your voice! SELECTION) that livened up the artists and fans together.
The collaboration with Hatanaka Tasuku and OxT who sang the opening song of the TV anime 『Buso Renkin』, 「Makka na Chikai」powerfully, i☆Ris and BEST FRIENDS！ held hands and sang the medley 「Make it！～Aidoru Katsudo！」 (Make it! ~Idol Activities) which had connections from the TV anime 『Idol Time PriPara』 through 『Aikatsu！』.
Next, for the 「FAN SELECTION」 which is a popular project of 「ANIMAX MUSIX」, Starlight Kukugumi had performed a cover of 「Adabana Necromancy」 which is the opening song of the TV anime 『Zombieland Saga』 which will have a second season released in 2020.
Then, for the 「BRAND-NEW ARTIST SELECTION」 which is a corner to introduce the 「ANIMAX MUSIX」 recommended new artist, the popular voice actress Tomita Miyu who just released her 1st single recently, made a surprise appearance on stage.
For the next project corner, TV anime shows based on 「Weekly Shounen Sunday」, which celebrated its 60th anniversary this year, were featured. After the performances from Tadokoro Azusa and Nakajima Ai who performed 「ANGELUS 」 from the TV anime 『Inuyasha』 and fripSide's performance of 「Koi wa Suriru, Shokku, Sasupensu」 (This love is thrill, shock, suspense) from the TV anime 『Detective Conan』 (Case Closed), the fans were captivated by the world of famous anime.
Starlight Kukugumi, who made an appearance previously, performed 「Hoshi no Dialogue」 (Star's Dialogue) the anime's opening music and 「Star Diamond」 from the TV anime 『Shojo☆Kageki Revue Starlight』.
While the passion lingered on from the first half, the second half was started by fhana, who marked their first time appearance in 「ANIMAX MUSIX」by singing the opening song of the TV anime 『Kobayashi's Maid Dragon』(Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid), 「Aozora Rhapsody」 which brought the venue together as one.
For the project corner of the second half, 「Hero＆Heroine SELECTION【Hero Episode】」, performances from the pair, halca and fhana who sang the opening of the TV anime 『Naruto』, 「Blue Bird」 and the pair, Tadokoro Azusa and Terashima Takuma who sang the opening for the TV anime 『Boku no Hero Academia』 (My Hero Academia), 「THE DAY」 were performed.
On the other hand, for the 【Heroine Episode】, Kurosaki Maon had made a cover performance of the opening of the TV anime 『Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS』 (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS), 「Massive Wonder」 and the opening of the TV anime 『Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru』 (Yuki Yuna Is a Hero), 「Hoshi to Hana」 (Stars and Flowers) was covered by Ohashi Ayaka and Mimori Suzuko.
Furthermore, for the 「FAN SELECTION Part2」, the audience was charmed by the performance of Yasuno Kiyono who sang the ending of the TV anime 『Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata』 (Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend), 「Colorful.」 where Yasuno was also part of the cast, followed by the collaboration between GRANRODEO and Hatanaka Tasuku, who sang the opening of the TV anime 『Shingeki no Kyoujin』 (Attack of Titan), 「Guren no Yumiya」, which caused the venue's hall to go crazy.
After that, fripSide, who made an appearance earlier, performed the opening of the TV anime 『Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet』 (Boarding School Juliet), 「Love with You」 and a stunning medley of all the songs from 『To Aru Kagaku no Railgun』(A Certain Scientific Railgun). Lastly, all the performers made an appearance and sang the opening of the TV anime 『Zettai Karen Children』 (Psychic Squad), 「Over The Future」 which was from 「Weekly Shounen Sunday」 and the approximately 6 hour long stage show had come to an end while the excitement continued to remain.
「ANIMAX MUSIX 2019 YOKOHAMA supported by SKY PerfecTV!」can be viewed exclusively on 「BS SKY PerfecTV! 」 from Mar. 2020 while a complete version will be broadcast by 「Animax」 in Apr. 2020.
