An anime original episode of “My Hero Academia”, “Ikinokore! Kesshino Survival Kunren” (Stay alive! Intence survival Training) will be available worldwide from midnight of Aug. 16 JST, on paid streaming services.
“My Hero Academia” is based on the manga by Horikoshi Kouhei, serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump”. Set in a world where most people have supernatural powers called “Quirks”, the story depicts the protagonist Midoriya Izuku a.k.a. Deku, working hard to become a “Hero” to fight against the “Villans”, who use their quirks for evil, along with his friends at the hero training school U.A. High. It's a classic Jump hero action genre, pursuing “Friendship, Effort, and Victory”.
The new episode is set right before the “Provisional Hero License Exam Arc”. It has been decided to be streamed from midnight of Aug. 16 JST, on worldwide paid streaming services. This is the first time for “My Hero Academia”, which is thriving not only in Japan but the whole world, including North America, to have such a streaming.
Deku and the other members of U.A. Department of Heroes Class 1-A attend a rescue drill for their provisional license exam, but they are caught in an unexpected collapsing accident. Deku, Bakugou, Todoroki, Ochako, and others, who were separated underground, work together using their “Quirks” to get out of this crisis. The intense story will be streamed in 2 parts.
The scenario is based on the special recitation event held in 2018, which featured 10 voice actors from My Hero Academia. Let's look forward to seeing what kind of animation it will turn out to be.
The 2 original episodes, which were included in the special versions of the 13th and 14th volume of the comics, will also be streamed. “Save! Rescue Training!” is an episode where they fight against a mysterious “Villan” during a drill in class, and in “Training of the Dead”, zombies attack Deku and his friends during a joint class with another school.
Don't forget to check out the original characters voiced by popular voice actors, such as Uchida Maaya and Kimura Ryouhei.
