On Nov. 26, 2019, "SHOW BY ROCK!!", a music game app based on Sanrio's character project, announced that its service is ending on Dec. 26.
They released a comment on the app's official Twitter saying, "We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of you for supporting us for the 6 years since the release of this app. Please accept our sincere apology for having to announce such news.", and have received many comments of gratitude from the fans.
"SHOW BY ROCK!!" is a character project by Sanrio under a theme of music & bands.
The app depicts boys and girls of a musical life-form "Mummon" working hard to become top stars in Midi City, where the one who masters music rules.
The project has developed into not only the game app but also anime, comics, stageplays, CDs, etc.
The app's official Twitter account tweeted, "Important announcement to users" at 16:00 on Nov. 26.
Along with the announcement saying, "Thank you for using 'SHOW BY ROCK!!'. The game app run by our company, 'SHOW BY ROCK!!' will end its service at 15:00 on Dec. 26, 2019.", they also tweeted, "We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of you for supporting us for the 6 years since the release of this app. Please accept our sincere apology for having to announce such news.", and "Though it is a short period of time, I hope you all enjoy the app until the end of the service."

Also, "SHOW BY ROCK!!" has announced a new TV anime series for the first time in 3 years, "SHOW BY ROCK!! Mashumairesshu!!" (starting on Jan. 9, 2020), and a new game app "SHOW BY ROCK!! Fes A Live" (scheduled to be released in 2020/pre-registrations now accepted) during the "SHOW BY ROCK!! 3969 GRATEFUL ROCK FESTIVAL" on Nov. 24.
"SHOW BY ROCK!!" official Twitter also released a comment saying, "Thank you for 6 years of so much support and passionate rock'n'roll love since the release of the first app. Midi City and the Mummons will keep on rocking!
