“Rurubu Evangelion”, a collaboration between the anime “Evangelion” series and the travel guidebook “Rurubu”, will be released on July 6, 2022. The cover with Shinji, Asuka, Rei, Mali, and Kaworu has been unveiled.

“Rurubu Evangelion” is a sightseeing guidebook that gives an in-depth guide to readers into Hakone, Hamamatsu, and Ube, the model locations of the “Evangelion” series. The collaboration guidebook will feature Hakone, the model for the “Third New Tokyo City” where the story takes place, Hamamatsu, one of the model locations for the “Third Village” in “Shin Evangelion: The Movie”, which was released in 2021, and Ube-Shinkawa Station that appeared in the climax of “Shin Eva” from fans’ perspective.

The cover of “Rurubu Evangelion” will feature a special illustration with five characters; Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Sohryu, Rei Ayanami, Mari Makinami Illustrious, and Kaworu Nagisa.
An original poster and stickers with the same illustration will come with the book.

The guidebook provides not only sightseeing information but also imaginary travel plans with the characters.
Oniyakko Tsubaki, a well-known Evangelion fan, and the Rurubu editorial department plan travel plans that fulfill fans’ dream places to visit with Kaworu. There will also be other travel plans to Hamamatsu with Rei, to Hakone with Asuka, and to Ube with Mari.

In addition to the spots related to Evangelion, Ube, which is also the hometown of director Hideaki Anno, has other attractions to offer, including photogenic sceneries and fans’ recommended food.

Other content includes Evangelion’s railroad column by the former editor-in-chief of “JTB Timetable” and Eva set that everyone wants to take on a trip will be recorded.

The “Rurubu Evangelion” is priced at 1,430 JPY (tax included). The book is currently available for pre-order at online bookstores and will be released on July 6, 2022.
