Let’s celebrate Amamiya Sora’s birthday! August 28 is Amamiya Sora’s birthday.

Amamiya Sora debuted as a voice actress in the early 2010s. She won the New Actress Award at the 9th Seiyuu Awards. She also debuted as an artist in 2014, and her 12th single “Freesia” was released on July 21.
In 2021, she has been appearing in a wide range of titles, including “The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light,” “Mieruko-chan,” and “The Honour At Magic High School”.

Here at Anime!Anime!, to celebrate Amamiya Sora’s birthday, we conducted an annual reader survey “Who is your favorite character played by Amamiya Sora?”. We received responses from 279 people during the survey period from August 12 to August 19.
The male-female ratio is about 60% for males and about 40% for females. About 50% of the age group were teens, and about 30% were in their 20s.

1st place

1st place goes to Aqua from “KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson” with an approval rating of about 30%, remaining at the top from last year.

Readers highly praised the crazy character who doesn’t really look like a heroine, “Aqua is a goddess but her crying or miserable voice are sort of addicting…”, “Amemiya-san, who often plays cute characters in other works, is devoted to gags such as crying and vomiting in ‘Konosuba’. That’s wonderful”, and “I think, only Amamiya Sora could play such a poor goddess with such strong emotions.”

2nd place

2nd place goes to Elizabeth from “The Seven Deadly Sins” with an approval rating of about 16 percent, which is also the same as last year.

Along with comments on a long-run role, which she has been performing since 2014, “This is how I get to know Amamiya-san”, readers also commented, “Through all those conversations, I feel how Sora-chan and Elizabeth have grown together.”, “Sora-chan’s clear and beautiful voice matches Elizabeth’s pure, noble and divine personality.”, and “She usually speaks in a bright voice, but you can feel the strength in the changing voice when it comes to fighting.” “The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light” is now showing in theaters, and the heroine is still blessed with immovable popularity.

3rd place

3rd place goes to Mizuhara Chizuru from “Rent-A-Girlfriend” with an approval rating of about 12%.

Readers commented, “I really fell in love with the performance of kindness and simplicity of inner Chizuru.”, “This is a great character with so many elements since she works as a rental girlfriend and aims to become an actress.”, and “Amamiya-san’s cool but gentle voice is is fully utilized in this character.”
The same characters from 2020 edition are remain at the top-3.

For Fujimiya Kaori from “One Week Friends”, “Kaori’s voice tone and intonation are a little ephemeral, and it feels like she is gonna disappear the next moment. This performance perfectly matched the character.”
For Hisaishi Kanade from “Gekijoban Hibike! Euphonium: Chikai no Finale”, “Contrary to her cute visual, it is a character with many hidden faces, but thanks to Amamiya-san’s careful and passionate acting, she seems like a real human being.”

For Nanami Yachiyo from “Magia Record”, “She looks cold, but along with her strength and loneliness, there is fragility inside her, and I like it. I think, together with the voicing, she is the one that represents ephemeral and powerful magical girl characters.”
