The live-action film of the “Mobile Suit Gundam” series will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. It was also announced that it will be streamed on Netflix.

“Mobile Suit Gundam” was first released as a TV anime in Japan in 1979. Since then, the franchise has developed for over 40 years and has a broad fan base regardless of age or gender.

The live-action film was announced during the “Anime Expo 2018” in Los Angeles, USA. Sunrise, which has been handling the animation of the series, and Legendary, well known for the “Pacific Rim”, “Jurassic World”, and “Godzilla” series, will be working together on this film.

The conflicts, love, and the human drama, depicted through the battles of the “Mobile Suit” pilots, from the past titles of the “Mobile Suit Gundam” franchise will be inherited in the live-action film.

Brian K. Vaughan will be in charge of the script, and Jordan Vogt-Roberts whose first feature film was “Kong: Skull Island” (2017 / Production by Legendary), will be the director.

The live-action film of the “Mobile Suit Gundam” series will be streamed on Netflix. Netflix will release the film to the whole world (except China) and Legendary will distribute it to China to promote the new fascination of Gundam.
