“Chainsaw Man”, which is currently serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump”, has been given a TV anime adaptation by MAPPA. Along with this announcement, a teaser visual and comments from the author, Fujimoto Tatsuki”, and MAPPA have been released.
“Chainsaw Man” is serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” by Fujimoto Tatsuki, the author of “Fire Punch”. The popular series has a circulation of 5 million copies, including e-books.
Denji lives a poor life, working as a devil hunter to repay his parents’ debts. When he was betrayed and killed, he made a contract with Pochita, the “chainsaw devil” with who he lived together. The dark hero action begins with him being resurrected with a devil’s heart as “Chainsaw Man”.
On receiving an anime adaptation, Fujimoto said, “Chainsaw Man is like a knockoff of Dorohedoro and Jujutsu Kaisen. Is the anime studio that created those anime really making an anime out of Chainsaw Man?!”.
MAPPA also released a comment saying, “We put our pride in creating the best animation to deliver the “Chainsaw Man” anime, which fans all over the world have been waiting for.”
Let’s look forward to further announcements.
