TV Anime’s “JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure: Golden Wind” Special event “Esperienza d’oro” was held on August 18th. The venue featured Kensho Ono, Yuichi Nakamura, Junichi Suwabe, Kosuke Toriumi, Daiki Yamashita and Junya Enoki. Fans rushed into both day and night performances, as it exceeded 4,500 patrons.
When the time came to launch the afternoon presentation, the host Hisanori Yoshida was first to come on stage. Each cast member then went on stage when called by the host, featuring Kensho Ono (Giorno Giovanna), Yuichi Nakamura (Bruno Bucciarati), Junichi Suwabe (Leone Abbacchio), Kosuke Toriumi (Guido Mista), Daiki Yamashita (Narancia Ghirga), Junya Enoki (Pannacotta Fugo).
After all cast members were present, they sat in chairs that were prepared and stroked poses identical to the event visuals. With this, the event had started.
The first project titled “Golden Wind Last Talk” involved a survey taken from each cast member about each character’s famous scene, and a reminiscing talk about the show. Narancia, Abbacchio and Bucciarati were featured in the afternoon presentation.
The first scene to be presented was Narancia’s famous scene. Toriumi selected a scene from Chapter 14 “Narancia Turned into an Old Man”. He praised the acting of Yamashita who played the rapidly aging Narancia affected by the Stand of Prosciutto “The Grateful Dead”. Yamashita reminisced: “I did my performance while thinking ‘how am I supposed to express a rapidly aging person?’”.
Ono and Yamashita selected another scene from Chapter 21“A Chase Swimming Through Bucciarati’s”.
Ono commented about Yamashita, who played Narancia when he decided to betray his own organisation: “I loved this scene ever since I read the original work, but Yamashita did an amazing performance that gave me goose bumps when I watched him on air”. Yamashita said “I selected a scene that was a big turning point for Narancia, where he grew from being ordered to not being ordered around”.
The next one shown was Abbacchio’s famous scene. Enoki selected a scene from Chapter 5 “Abbacchio’s Tea”. It is a famous scene that represents Abbacchio, where he carried out a baptism for the newcomer Giorno. However, Enoki introduces the humor as: “I like a series of events where something is hidden well while being served”.
Then Suwabe selected a scene from Chapter 12 “Explaining the Purple Haze ability to Giorno”. Laughter rose from the crowd when he remarked “I hide my own stand ability and yet, it’s cute when I teach other people’s stand ability carelessly”. He also revealed what went on behind the scenes “I was aware of the ‘fierce’ speech style of the represented text in the original work, it was a scene where I was quite fussy about”.
The theme of the talk that followed was Bucciarati’s famous scene. Toriumi chose a scene from Chapter 1 “Bucciarati Licks Giorno’s Face”. Even something from Chapter 1, when the story just began was selected. He commented “I chose a scene where we can see one aspect of Bucciarati when he first appeared as the bad guy and made great impact on the story”.
Ono and Nakamura continued to choose a scene from Chapter 30 “Talking About My Death In a Car With Giorno”.
Nakamura commented about this scene “Bucciarati felt that he will succeed as the next leader while in a conversation with Giorno, who had already decided on who will be leader when he dies.” On the other hand, Ono talked about his appeal “In contrast to Giorno who had a look of desperation, it was impressive that Bucciarati had a look of understanding at his own death.”
When “Golden Wind Last Talk” ended successfully, it was followed by the artist’s LIVE corner. Coda performed “Fighting Gold” and Daisuke Hasegawa performed “Traitor’s Requiem Giorno Ver.” When the performance approached its climax, the last corner “SPECIAL Raw Post-Recording” began.
Announced in the afternoon presentation was Chapter 5 “Find Polpo’s Fortune!”, Chapter 12 “The Second Order from the Boss” and Chapter 13 “Man in the Mirror and Purple Haze”, 3 scenes in Chapter 15 “The Grateful Dead, Part 1”.
The scene in Chapter 5 where Team Bucciarati are gathered, the scene where Suwabe felt fussy with Abbacchio’s “fierce” speech style, and the scene with Bucciarati’s famous line “Are you ready for this? I know I am”. When these scenes were performed live, the venue grew lively once again.
For the final event, each cast member signed off with a few words. Ono commented “The staff that made these powerful visuals and the amazing support I get from everyone has allowed me to continue the journey with Team Bucciarati and get to where I am now. Even from now, I’m still blowing the Golden Wind so I appreciate your continuing support.” Reaching about 2 hours, the curtains are closed with this presentation.
