The trailer for "Anxious Body," a new work by internationally acclaimed animator Mizushiri Yoriko, has been released.
"Anxious Body" is the latest short animation by Mizushiri Yoriko, an internationally acclaimed animator from Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, whose style emphasizes on sensation through body parts and familiar objects as motifs.
By combining a rounded body with everyday motifs that seem to threaten it, Mizushiri-san deepens her style and attempts to depict "physical sensation itself".
This film features music by Honda Yuka, who Mizushiri-san has been a fan of for many years. The film was commissioned by the Towada Museum of Contemporary Art, and as an international co-production between Japan (New Dear) and France (MIYU Production), Mizushiri-san is also aiming to develop the film at international film festivals.
"Anxious Body" is scheduled to premiere at international film festivals abroad in 2021. In Japan, "Anxious Body" will premiere during the third phase of the "Inter + Play" exhibition (January 22 - May 29, 2022) at the Towada Museum of Contemporary Art.
The first official photo album of Mitaka Forest's Ghibli Art Museum, "Ghibli Art Museum Stories" will be on sales. Pre-orders can be made at Amazon and it will be released on Mar. 20, 2002. This photo album contains photo of the interior of the Mitaka Forest's Ghibli Art Museum where photography aren't normally allowed. The photo was taken by Kanyada, who is living in Thailand, with his iPhone. As the theme is "The perception of an adult who forgotten his childhood", it is an album that contained the unknown "appearance of the Ghibli Art Museum" that can't be seen without squatting down and looking. As it full of expectation of discovering something new as if the childhood had returned,and there are even expressions which had surprised the Ghibli staffs who have been working there for a long time. Furthermore, at the end of the album, there is a more than 1500 words introduction from Nakajima Kiyofumi-shi, the president of Studio Ghibli and 2nd caretaker of Mitaka Forest's Ghibli Art Museum, and an "afterword" from Suzuki Toshio-shi. "Ghibli Art Museum Stories" is priced at 3,800 JPY (tax excluded). It can now be pre-ordered at Amazon and there will be a limited sales of 200 copies that come with the "original postcard". Anno Hideaki, the director of the last entry of the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time”, will have his own exhibition open on Oct. 1, 2021 at the National Art Center of Tokyo. The exhibition will include series in which he was involved as an animator and will also cover exhaustively his career as a director and producer, revealing the secrets behind his creations. This art exhibition will be the first ever to display such a huge amount of behind-the-scenes production materials. Ranging from the various Anime and Tokusatsu titles Anno Hideaki has been involved in since the beginning of his career, which includes illustrations, memos, screenplays, sketches, storyboards, layouts, animation frames, and miniature sets. The “Anno Hideaki Exhibit” will be held at the National Art Center of Tokyo from Oct.1, 2021.
