The sequel to the live-action film “Tokyo Revengers”, will be released in two parts, with the first part “Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween -Fate-” being released on April 21, 2023 and the second part “Tokyo Revengers 2: Halloween in Blood -Decisive Battle-” on June 30, 2023. The trailer and visuals for the film have just arrived. In the trailer, the theme song for “-Fate-“, “Gradation” by SUPER BEAVER, was also unveiled for the first time.
“Tokyo Revengers” is based on the manga “Tokyo Manji Revengers” by Wakui Ken, serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The “Tokyo Revengers” is a “rebellion against authority revenge suspense” that has captured the hearts of men and women with its overly cool characters, the hero Takemichi who grows every time he returns to the past to take revenge on his life, the bonds with his passionate friends who join forces to fight together, and the numerous quotes that move the hearts of the audience. The original work has been repeatedly reprinted and has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide as of February 2023.
The live-action film was released in theaters on July 9, 2021. The all-star cast included Kitamura Takumi, who played Takemichi, Yamada Yuki, Sugino Yosuke, Imada Mio, Suzuki Nobuyuki, Maeda Gordon, Shimizu Hiroya, Isomura Hayato, Mamiya Shotaro, and Yoshizawa Ryo, all of whom are highly popular and talented. The “heart-pounding” story of Takemichi risking his life for the sake of his friends and his own ruined life became popular, and the final box-office revenue was 4.5 billion yen and the number of audience members reached 3.35 million. It became the No. 1 live-action theatrical blockbuster in 2021.
The trailer, which was also featured in the special trailer, begins with the scene where Hinata (Imada Mio) is killed again by the plot of Tokyo Manjikai, which has gone rogue in front of the protagonist Takemichi (Kitamura Takumi). Despite his despair at the death of his beloved Hinata, Takemichi decides to rise up again and take revenge with the words, “No matter how many times I fail, I will save you. ……
In order to save Hinata this time, Takemichi goes to see Draken (Yamada Yuki) in the present day, but he is a changed man. In order to find out the truth behind the unbelievable words he is told, “For the first time, that day, Manjikai lost,” Takemichi shakes hands with Naoto (Sugino Yosuke) and time jumps back to the past again. There, Takemichi learns that the key to saving Hinata is to get back Mikey’s (Yoshizawa Ryo) best friend and one of the founding members of Tokyo Manjikai, Baji (Nagayama Kento), from Tokyo Manji’s enemy, Valhalla.
The film features a cast of familiar faces from the previous film as well as some of the hottest new characters from this film, such as Chifuyu (Takasugi Mahiro), Takemichi’s new partner in this film, who is also the first apprentice of Baji in Tokyo Manji, Kisaki (Mamiya Shotaro), who for some reason wears a Tokyo Manji suicide uniform, Kazutora (Murakami Nijiro), who is currently the No.3 of Valhalla and is determined to “kill Mikey and destroy Tokyo Manji” even though he was one of the founding members along with Baji, and Takemichi’s best friends from high school such as Akkun (Isomura Hayato). You will not want to take your eyes off these characters for even one second.
In the trailer, the scene of the big battle between Tokyo Manji and Valhalla, called “Bloody Halloween,” which is also the title of the film, is also shown for the first time. In addition, a rare reminiscence scene depicting the early days of Tokyo Manji is also shown for the first time.
The song “Gradation,” the theme song of the first part “-Fate-,” again by SUPER BEAVER, was also unveiled for the first time. It is a soul-stirring, full-bodied number that gives enthusiasm to the men who risk their lives for the sake of their friends, as it sings the emotions of Takemichi and other characters with their own thoughts and feelings as they try to resist their fate in high spirits.
The visuals for both Part 1 and Part 2, which were unveiled along with the film, are powerful images of the Revengers assembled in the strongest formation. The first part, “Fate,” is colored red, and the second part, “Decisive Battle,” is colored black, showing the passion of those who believe in and fight to protect the oath they swore to their irreplaceable friends.
In addition, visuals for the last two Movie Ticket cards, the front and back two-part film set tickets, which are among the 14 types of Movie Ticket cards, have also been unveiled. The Revengers depicted in the visuals are on sale from February 3 with a special holder only available at theaters, so be sure to check them out.
