The live-action film “xxxHOLiC” will be released on April 29, 2022. The film’s scenes, which show the high school trio of Watanuki (played by Kamiki Ryunosuke), Doumeki (played by Matsumura Hokuto), and Himawari (played by Tamaki Tina) getting along well with each other, have been released for the first time.
“xxxHOLiC” is a dark fantasy based on the manga by creative group CLAMP, which has sold more than 14 million copies. It is a mysterious story about Watanuki Kimihiro (Kamiki Ryunosuke), a high school student who has lived a solitary life because he can see ayakashi that haunt the darkness of people’s hearts, wanders into a “mise” that grants any wish in exchange for a price, and meets the mistress Ichihara Yuko (Shibasaki Kou), who leads him to a mysterious fate.
Ninagawa Mika, director of “Helter Skelter” and “Diner,” has taken on the challenge of creating her first live-action film with stunning visuals that are both glamorous and gorgeous.
The recently released scene shows how Watanuki, who has lived a solitary life because he can see ayakashi, gradually opens his heart to his classmates Doumeki and Himawari as he spends peaceful days with them.
Watanunki spreads out a colorful bento box filled with three-tiered dishes that he has prepared for them, and when Doumeki and Himawari look into it, they are amazed at Watanuki’s culinary skills.
The thoroughness with which even dessert was prepared was a bit comical, as even the normally cool Doumeki couldn’t help but look twice at Watanuki while thoroughly enjoying the pudding. Even Watanuki smiles happily at the two as they eat the dish with relish.
In addition, there is a must-see scene in the film that the three gradually grow closer to each other as they joke around in the classroom.
The live-action film “xxxHOLiC” will be screened in theaters on April 29, 2022.
