TV Anime “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window“ will start broadcasting on October 3. Key visual and promotional video were released. The opening theme song “Saika” by the band Frederic can be heard in the PV.

With over 2 million copies sold, “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window” is a horror mystery manga written by Yamashita Tomoko.
The plot follows bookstore clerk with the ability of seeing ghosts, Mikado Kosuke, who teams up with exorcist Hiyakawa Rihito. As psychic detectives, they solve mysteries surrounding curses and spirits. The main cast for the TV anime features Shimazaki Nobunaga as Mikado Kosuke and Hatano Wataru as Hiyakawa Rihito.

The released key visual was illustrated by director and character designer Yasuda Yoshitaka and focuses on the main characters: the boy who can see spirits, Mikado Kosuke, and the exorcist, Hiyakawa Rihito.

Surrounding the protagonist are the fortuneteller con man, Mukae Keita, the high school student who works as a “mercenary necromancer”, Hiura Erika, her bodyguard, Sakaki Kazuomi, and the detective Hanzawa Hiroki, who all serve as important characters in the plot. The shadow of the hand that engulfs Mikado and Hiyakawa makes for a suspense filled story.

The released PV offers a glimpse of the series of events and encounters that unfold with the “fateful encounter” between Mikado and Hiyakawa, as the plot develops to unveil the true meaning behind their “fate”. The creepy smiling man in white, a key character in the story can also be spotted from behind in the video. His role will be revealed at the anime so please look forward to watching it.

The opening theme titled “Saika”, is performed by the band Frederic. A small portion of the sentimental yet pleasantly refreshing song can be heard in the PV. Comments have arrived from Mihara Koji that handled the song composition and lyrics.

“The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window” will start broadcasting at 22:00 on October 3, 2021 at TOKYO MX. The anime will also be streamed at FOD.

I was drawn to this series by the fact that each character’s inner feelings are explored in details. As someone who creates music, an art form equally elusive as emotions, when composing the opening theme I intently focused on the sentiment of the characters. The 2 main characters, who have extraordinary abilities, pair up and work together despite their differences in the way of thinking, and feel like this is an important thing. I really hope fans will enjoy “Saika” alongside this story that conveys a deep sense of camaraderie.
