Based on the theme of “e-sports battles”, “Space Jam: A New Legacy”, a movie in which Warner Bros. characters such as “Batman”, “Mad Max”, and “The Matrix” will play a dream role, will start screening on August 27, 2021. The characters from “Looney Tunes” will be in 3D for the first time in this movie, 90 years after their birth. The film, which shows the moment of the “3D” transformation, has been exclusively released on Anime! Anime!.

“Space Jam: A New Legacy” is a film which depicts an “e-sports battle” unfolding in an “infinite virtual multiverse” where LeBron James, the basketball player who has been called the greatest player in the history of the NBA, as a main character, and also the characters and films of Warner Brothers, which has produced numerous masterpieces since its founding in 1923, will cross-functionally appear.

In this film, LeBron and his team of friends from the Looney Tunes animated series, who has represented Warner Bros. since its first appearance in 1930, will finally be seen in 3D for the first time in a movie after more than 90 years of its history.
And this time, part of the full-length video showing the moment when they upgrade from 2D to 3D form was exclusively released on Anime! Anime!. Devin Crane, who directed the animation for this film, said, “Since ‘Tunes’ are so familiar to the audience, I felt that we shouldn’t lose sight of the individuality of each character. What’s important is to keep their personalities intact. This personality is expressed in their habits, behavior, and movements. The interactions between the characters must also be portrayed realistically. Tunes is not just an animated character, it’s a full-blooded being,” he said, revealing that he upgraded the characters with respect. By doing so, they succeeded in bringing out the new charm of the 3D characters while maintaining the cuteness and individuality of the 2D characters.

Koorogi Satomi, the voice actress who has been voicing Tweety, the most popular character in Tunes, for decades, said, “When I was a child, I once dreamt that I was in an anime, and I thought it was just a dream that 2D and 3D came together. I never thought the day would come when I could really experience that! Looney’s friends have definitely become even more familiar to me,” she said, expressing her surprise and joy at the 3D characters.

“Space Jam: A New Legacy” will hit theaters on August 27.
