1st place

1st place goes to Rengoku Kyoujurou from “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” with an approval rating of about 25%, up from 3rd place last year.

The new popularity of Rengoku Kyoujurou comes from the release of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train”. Readers commented on the inspiring character, “This character made me the fan of Hino. This is the first time I have felt that the role and voice are synchronized so well. The reliability, kindness, and warmth of Rengoku-san were conveyed fully thanks to Hino-san’s expressiveness.”, and “I cried so many times at the movie theater, as it was like the Rengoku’s soul had transferred to Hino-san.”
Famous lines such as “Burn your heart” and “I won’t let anyone here die” are also popular, and many fans have longed for “Just the ideal older friend!”.

2nd place

2nd place goes to Kamui from “Gintama” with an approval rating of about 23%, which is the same rank as last year.

Readers pointed on the performing of various elements, “I love the gap between his usual cute smiling face and fierce side of the battle-loving when he sees an opponent.”, “Hino-san’s voice is perfect for Kamui, who has a cute face and is actually scary. Hino-san is too good to give a feeling of indescribable fear!”, and “It is a character who shows the greatness of the voice actor because the performance of everyday life and battle scenes are so cool.” Some readers commented on memorable lines, “Hino-san’s high-pitched voice and the words, ‘I’ll kill you’ matched so well.”

3rd place

3rd place goes to Sawamura Daichi from “Haikyu !!” with an approval rating of about 18%, down from last year’s top.

There were many comments about the reliable captain of the Karasuno High School Volleyball Club, “It seems that voice of Hino-san and the character Sawamura Daichi are intertwined, so you can feel the greatness of him as a captain. He is an ideal captain who is drawing out each person’s individuality and scolding exactly when he needs to.”, and “It was cool of him that he gathered monster-class friends together and enjoyed volleyball.”

Characters from top-3 are all based on works of “Weekly Shonen Jump”.

■ Let’s introduce other comments!

For Shinkai Hayato from “Yowamushi Pedal”, “The best sprinter in Hakone Academy. It was surprising how he differently plays the usual easy-going Shinkai-san and the serious Shinkai-san who turned into like a ‘demon’.”
About Hairo Kineshi from “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.”, “The character is so hot that you can call him a hot-blooded idiot. It’s cute even if he’s a little off.”, and “Hino’s voice fits very well with the hot-blooded person.”

For Serizawa Nao from “Free!”, “Hino-san’s gentle voice matches and is the best!”, and “I was impressed by the scene of him swimming when he couldn’t participate in the match.”

For Kamo Noritoshi “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “He is the next generation owner of the Kamo family, so he is a solid person, but he is a cute one who also has a natural side. Above all, I fell in love with his voice, and I love Kamo-san and Hino-san!”

In the 2021 version of the survey, Rengoku Kyoujurou from “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” jumped to the top. The movie also broke the Japanese movie box office revenue record, which is probably the reason for the vote. Looking over the top 20, not only anime but also dubbing roles for overseas dramas are ranked in.
