TV anime “Fruits Basket” has welcomed its final episode (episode 13) on midnight of June 28, 2021. Together with the final episode, it was announced that the anime adaptation of the main protagonist, Tooru’s parents, Kyoko and Katsuya will be released in 2022 together with a stage adaptation of “Fruits Basket” on the same year.
Also, the gratitude movie with the message signed boards from the original author, Takaya Natsuki and a total of 22 cast members, has been released.

“Fruits Basket” is a TV anime based on the shoujo manga by Takaya Natsuki that was serialized on “Hana to Yume” from 1998 to 2006. This is a story about Honda Tooru, a high school girl who lost her mother, her only family member, facing the various troubles of the Soma household, which is the “curse of the zodiac”, after she started living at the house of her classmate Soma Yuki due to some circumstances.

For this brand-new anime adaptation by the new staff and cast members, the 1st season was broadcast from April 2019 to September 2019, 2nd season was broadcast from April 2020 to September 2020. And “The Final” that has ended recently was broadcast from April 2021 to June 2021.

It was just announced recently that the voice actor of Honda Katsuya is Hosoda Yoshimasa in episode 12 of “The Final”. Due to the feedback of fans, such as “I want to hear more of Katsuya’s voice!” and “I’ll be waiting for the episode of Kyoko and Katsuya!”, the highly anticipated on the past of the two has gotten an anime adaptation and it will be released in 2022.

Also, the stage adaptation of “Fruits Basket” was also announced on the same year. The latest information, including the performers, will be announced on the official website on a later date, so do look forward to it.

After the end of this emotional finale, an approximately 6 minute gratitude movie that interweaves the famous scenes together with the message signed boards by the 22 cast members, has been released.
The affectionate message toward this work from the original author as well as the supervisor, Takaya Natsuki, and cast members, such as Ishimi Manaka (voice of Honda Tooru) and Shimazaki Nobunaga (voice of Soma Yuki) as well as the numerous characters’ lines of this movie will make you feel emotional.

It has been 3 years since the release of the TV anime “Fruits Basket”. The TV series has finished broadcast, but do look forward to the future developments, including the anime adaptation on Kyoko and Katsuya as well as the stage adaptation.
