The key visual for TV anime “Fruits Basket” 2nd season (starting from Apr. 6, 2020) was released. In addition, the comment for 2nd season broadcast arrived from the author of the original manga, Takaya Natsuki.

The original manga of “Fruits Basket” is a manga for girls and ladies, which was serialized from 1998 until 2006 in “Hana to Yume” (Hakusensha). The author is Takaya Natsuki. The series is published over 30 million copied worldwide, and it has been adopted in TV anime in TV Tokyo-related channels in 2001 (a total of 26 episodes), and adopted in stage plays in 2009.
It has been adopted in TV anime again from Apr. 2019 with new staff and cast members, and 1st season was broadcast on TV Tokyo and other channels from Apr. to Jun. 2019. The 2nd season will be broadcast from Apr. 6, 2020.

The episodes of 2nd season have been adopted in anime for the first time.
A year is about to pass since Tooru began to live in Sigure’s house.

This key visual creates the expectation for how the character overcome their sad past and troubles each characters have from 1st season.
TV anime “Fruits Basket” 2nd season will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and other channels from Monday, Apr. 6, 2020.

Congratulations on the broadcast of the anime, Fruits Basket 2nd season.
I want to continuously thank everyone who is working on this anime, and I am happy to see this anime has been delivered to many fans.

To be honest, I have things from manga already forgotten although I am the author (it is because 10+ years has already passed since the end of the manga), and I cried every time I checked the original manga for a script, thinking, “Who made such a sad story…? I did”. Since I repeatedly did that, I am worried that liquid in my body will be gone after movies, voices, music, and other factors are added to my work.

Please look over the characters striving in 2nd season for them to become a lost child to not a lost child, but to do so, they have to be lost for a long time.
And, please love them in a way they are.
I am looking forward to the anime also as a fan.
