As the second announcement of the Japanese dub of “Dolittle” (in theaters from Mar. 20, 2020), 23 voice actors including; Fujiwara Keiji, Ono Daisuke, Paku Romi, Nakamura Yuuichi, Saitou Souma, Sawashiro Miyuki, Hanazawa Kana, and others were announced.

“Dolittle” is an action-adventure created by the staff and cast of “Alice in Wonderland” and “Maleficent”, based on the 100-year old worldwide best-seller.
Dr. Dolitte, a veterinarian who can communicate with animals, goes on an adventure to a legendary island to find the sole cure to save the young queen from her illness.
23 voice actors were announced as the second announcement of additional voice casts; Fujiwara Keiji, Ono Daisuke, Paku Romi, Nakamura Yuuichi, Saitou Souma, Sawashiro Miyuki, Hanazawa Kana, etc.
Their roles are; Fujiwara as the protagonist Dr. Dolittle, Ono as Chee-Chee the gorilla, Park Romi as Dab-Dab the duck, Nakamura as Yoshi the Polarbear, Saitou as Jip the dog, Sawashiro as Tutu the fox and Hanazawa as Betsy the giraffe.
Other roles are; Kuroda Takaya as Kevin the squirrel, Kayano Ai as Mini the sugar glider, Sugita Tomokazu as James the dragonfly, Inoue Kazuhiko as Don Carpenterino the ant, Suwabe Junichi as the rabbit, Ikeda Shuuichi as Barry the tiger, Mori Katsuji as Lord Badgley, Ootsuka Houchuu as Dr. Blair Müdfly, and Ootsuka Akio as Rassouli.
Masuda Toshiki, Takeuchi Shunsuke, Sawashiro Chiharu, Fukuhara Ayaka, Tachibana Tatsumaru, Seto Asami, and Tomari Asuna will also be making a voice appearance. This great line-ups of voice actors for this dubbing will surely enliven the great adventure of Doctor Dolittle with his unique animal friends.

It's a cheerful movie for both children and adults. Each character is unique and you can see how much Robert Downy Jr. enjoyed playing the role. Please look forward to the release of the film! I assure you it will be amusing!
【Ono Daisuke as Chee-Chee the gorilla】
You may think of a gorilla as a tough and confident animal, but Chee-Chee is kind and delicate.
I tried to express the gentleness and wiseness of the gorilla aka “sage of the forest” with my voice. The movie is great entertainment for all ages. Please enjoy the Japanese dub of all the animals speaking! I hope you can feel the pure feelings of animals, which isn't that different from our world.
【Park Romi as Dab-Dab the duck】
I'm happy to be a part of such a lovely and heartwarming adventure. I was knocked out by Dab-Dab's playfulness during the recordings. I wish I could meet Dr. Dolittle.
It doesn't matter if you already know Dr. Dolittle or not. Anyone can enjoy this movie full of surprises, excitement, and love. Please come and watch it!
【Nakamura Yuuichi as Yoshi the polerbear】
To tell you the truth, the recordings haven't finished yet and I'm still working on what kind of character to portray him as. The other members are all so unique and the movie is fantastic making it a very difficult but exciting challenge. It is a wonderful drama that can be enjoyed by everyone in the family. If you're with a young child, I highly recommend watching it in the Japanese dub!
【Saitou Souma as Jip the dog】
I'm Saitou Souma and I will be voicing Jip.
I really enjoyed the animals' comical expressions and conversations! It has been a while since my last voicing job, but it was still an exciting experience. Jip is very loyal yet has some cute sides making the recording very interesting. Dr. Dolittle is of course, unique and cool, but also the movie itself has a great story and amazing images! I myself am looking forward to watching the Japanse dub! Please look forward to it!
【Sawashiro Miyuki as Tutu the fox】
It's so lively to the eye! The various characters, which make an impression even to the ear, made me smile throughout the whole movie. I joined in as the wanted (for some reason) fox. My transportation is a giraffe, haha… I guess the view is great, but it must be a dangerous ride… She seems to love the thrill.
The Japanese dub has some animal and voice combinations that are so funny it will make you laugh just thinking back upon them! I hope you will enjoy it at the theaters.
【Hanazawa Kana as Betsy the giraffe】
The conversations between Dr. Dolittle and the unique characters are so funny! Betsy the giraffe, that I am voicing, is a tomboy but can be reliable at the right moments. I was told to aim for that girl who used to be mischievous. She was running in most of the scenes and it made me wonder how good it would feel to run with such long limbs. Please join the grand and exciting adventure of Dr. Dolittle and his friends!
【Kuroda Takaya as Kevin the squirrel】
The story and images drew me in so much that I was simply enjoying the film as an audience while checking our roles!
Kevin is a bit saucy but cowardly squirrel! I hope you will love him along with the movie itself! It's a movie enjoyable for couples and families. Please enjoy it.
【Kayano Ai as Mini the sugar glider】
I looked up about sugar gliders to prepare for the role of Mini. I was blown away by their cuteness! Their lovely round eyes and little mouth… I performed as if I myself had become small, haha.
The fantastic story will make you even more imaginative. The conversation between the playful Dr. Dolittle and the animals, which you usually don't hear speaking, will make you giggle. Please enjoy it!
【Sugita Tomokazu as James the dragonfly】
I will take the role seriously so as to not make people think that the dubbing was completed as of the casting.
【Inoue Kazuhiko as Don Carpenterino the ant】
The movie is pure fun. It's full of dreams and will keep you excited throughout the whole movie. You might get that feeling of talking to animals if you have one as a pet, but this film really made me want to have conversations with them just as Dr. Dolittle does. Don Carpenterino is the boss of the ant mob. He's small but has so much dignity. I love the gap. It's really a fun movie, so please enjoy it with your family!
【Suwabe Junichi as the rabbit】
The scene of the rabbit I voiced runs by just as a rabbit does. I hope I am able to leave even a small footprint in your memory. Many lovely animals will make an appearance. It is a movie for all ages, so please enjoy it at the theaters!
【Ikeda Shuuichi as Barry the Tiger】
I usually don't have the chance to do the voice for animal characters, so it was quite a challenge, but I enjoyed myself. This is a movie for all ages, which couples and families can enjoy. I hope this will be a refresher to the hard world we live in today.
【Mori Katsuji as Lord Badgley】
I was in the anime adaption “The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle”, which was aired 58 years ago in 1972, as Tommy Stubbins. Back then, I called myself Tanaka Setsuya. Well, I don't remember much from the time… My character will poison the queen to become king. I enjoyed the recording with a sense of nostalgia. I'm sure the ones who watched the movie will be moved by the warm and friendly communication between Dr. Dolittle and the animals.
【Ootsuka Houchuu as Dr. Blair Müdfly】
The first thing that came to mind was, “He's so cute…” He has a strong desire to be better than Dolittle and will do anything to accomplish that, but he's like an open book, you can almost see through him, haha. He's so charming. The cast members of the film are so talented and expressive that I was really drawn in by their acting. It is really an honor to be a part of such a movie. Please look forward to it!
【Ootsuka Akio as Rassouli】
Dolittle brings back so many memories. The CG techniques have developed so much since then. Animals look so real its as if they're really talking. Kids will definitely enjoy it. I'm also looking forward to the release, so let's enjoy the movie together!
