In commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the “planetarian” series, crowd funding aiming to visualization of spin-off novel “Snow Globe”, is set to reach the target funding of 30 million yen in just two more days. The OVA project is going ahead. Also, if the funds reach 40 million yen, there will be an extended anime series and in the case that the funds raise higher still, there is talk of more to come.

The “planetarian” series was created on the 29th of November, 2004 and has since seen the creation of the 2016 anime “planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet” and live action anime, “planetarian: Hoshi no Hito”. Even after the movie was released and screened in planetariums around the country it is still increasing in support.

Now the new anime, “planetarian: Snow Globe”, will be a prelude to the main story. In an era where humanity’s fascination with space travel is coming to an end. Hanabishi department store and planetarium hall companion robots “Hoshi no Yumemi” continue to abandon their workplace and ignore business orders. That is the origin of Yumemi’s ‘promise’ that occurred 10 years before.

As for the production staff, the previous director, Naokatsu Tsuda will act as supervisor. Furthermore, the character designer, Hitomi Taketomi, screenplay Yaskawa Shogo and many other staff involved in the previous work have decided to participate.
Animation production will be handled by Studio Occult Novole, which was newly launched by the staff of David Production who produced the distributed and theatrical version of “planetarian”.

“‘Planetarian 15th Anniversary’ Snow Globe OVA Edition Project” is currently being carried out on the limited edition website.
