A month has already passed since 2019 fall anime season has started.

The appeal of tv anime is not only the story itself, but also the theme songs which illustrate the world of the anime. Among several theme songs of this season, which song catches the heart of the fans?

Here on Anime!Anime!, we have conducted a survey titled, “What is your favorite theme song of the Fall 2019 anime season?” The survey was conducted from Nov. 6 to Nov. 13 and we have received 537 responses.
The male to female ratio was 35% to 65%, and there were more responses from female fans. 19 years old or under made up 60% of total responses, and those in their 20’s made up about 25%. Now let us announce the result of the opening theme ranking!

■”PSYCHO-PASS ” ranked 1st for using new artist!
1st ranked was “PSYCHO-PASS 3”. The support rate was about 15%.

The opening theme for “PSYCHO-PASS 3” is “Q-vism” by Who-ya Extended. the new artist was appointed with reform of the main characters.
A reader commented, “The song matches with the anime perfectly. It creates a new atmosphere, while keeping the mood of the previous series”, while another reader commented, “It is simply cool! I can tell that they thought deeply about the lyrics. I believe my interpretation of the lyrics will change after I finished watching the anime. I can wait.”

Ranked in 2nd was “Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia”. Support rate was about 11%.

We received comments praising “Phantom Joke”, by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, saying, “I was impressed and moved by the lyrics which consider a lot about the anime, although UNISON SQUARE GARDEN sings for the Fate series for the first time”, and “When I heard the song for the first time, the song was for the main character, Fujimaru Ritsuka. The lyrics express a sprinting sound and a firm determination to never give up on the future are cool and best suited to the beginning of a grand story!”.

Ranked in 3rd was “Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld”. Support rate was about 9%.

The latest opening theme is “Resolution” by Tomatsu Haruka. A reader commented, “The voice of Tomatsu is very beautiful, and the song matches perfectly with Alicization, which is the longest series of SAO”, and “There is dynamism and feeling in it, and it sounds as it describes the battles in the future. It is very cool” “The song is excellent and it gives hope for the future”. Tomatsu singing is also what fans are happy about because Tomatsu plays the role of Asuna in SAO.

In a males-only survey, 1st ranked was “Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld”, 2nd comes “Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia”, and ranked in 3rd was “Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!”.
On the other hand, in a female-only survey, top ranked was “PSYCHO-PASS 3”, 2nd was “Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia”, and 3rd came “Outburst Dreamer Boys”.

“Smile Skill=SukiSkill!” from “Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!” issung by Akaki Chikai, the main cast from the anime. The readers commented, “I love the rhythm and pictures of ‘Wahho Wahha'” and “The song is stuck in my head. I think I can listen to it forever. Hata Aki always creates such a great work”.

“Outburst Dreamer Boys” from the anime, “Outburst Dreamer Boys” is also sung by Minagami High School Hero Club, which is the team of the main cast from the anime. “I was happy to see Vocaloid music become the opening theme for the anime. It is good to see differences between the original ‘Outburst Dreamer Boys’ and the ones from the anime, which the cast sings”. Making the novel which uses Vocaloid music as the theme into anime is very popular.

To “Your Entrance” by Raki, Aine, Mio from BEST FRIENDS! of “Aikatsu! on Parade!”: “The characters from Aikatsu! series gather in one! The opening theme recalls the history of Aikatsu, as well as the anime itself.”

To “Soul Flag” by Shimono Hiro, from “African Office Worker”: “The song gives me great energy. It cheers on the salarymen, and has comedy-like parts to it at the same time.”
