The story is set in Taisho Japan (period in the history of Japan dating from Jul. 30, 1912 to Dec. 25, 1926). A demon killed the entire family of Kamado Tanjirou when he wasn't home. The only survivor is his younger sister, Nezuko, who has mutated into a ferocious demon.
At one point, Tanjirou gets attacked by Nezuko, but he was saved by a swordsman Tomioka Giyu of the "Demon Slayer Corps" (*demons killing association). Guided by his courage, Tanjirou goes to Urokodaki Sakonji, a swordsman's "trainer" Therefore, he decided to be a"demon slayer" in order to turn his sister to human again and seek revenge on the demon that killed his family.
In the TV anime, "Kamado Tanjirou Arc" ended on a scene where the main character, Kamado Tanjirou, and his friends boarded the in the final episode "New Mission".

Moreover, "Jump Special Anime Fest 2020" will be held online from 01:00 p.m.on Oct. 11, just before the release. In the "Demon Slayer:Kimetsu no Yaiba" corner, a talk show will be held by three people, Hanae Natsuki, who plays Tanjirou, Kito Akari, who plays Nezuko, and Hino Satoshi, who plays Rengoku Kyoujirou.

The original manga "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is drawn by Gotouge Koyoharu and was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump". The serialization began in the 11th issue of 2016 and reached the final chapter in the 24th issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump" released on May 18, 2020, ending the serialization for about 4 years and 3 months. The cumulative sales of the series have exceeded 80 million, up to the latest 21st volume "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" which is currently available.
