■Story
The story is set in Taisho Japan (period in the history of Japan dating from Jul. 30, 1912 to Dec. 25, 1926). A demon killed the entire family of Kamado Tanjirou when he wasn’t home. The only survivor is his younger sister, Nezuko, who has mutated into a ferocious demon.
At one point, Tanjirou gets attacked by Nezuko, but he was saved by a swordsman Tomioka Giyu of the “Demon Slayer Corps” (*demons killing association). Guided by his courage, Tanjirou goes to Urokodaki Sakonji, a swordsman’s “trainer” Therefore, he decided to be a”demon slayer” in order to turn his sister to human again and seek revenge on the demon that killed his family.

In the TV anime, “Kamado Tanjirou Arc” ended on a scene where the main character, Kamado Tanjirou, and his friends boarded the in the final episode “New Mission”.

In this movie, Tanjirou and his friends, who have completed their training at the butterfly house, arrive at their next mission, the . It is known that more than 40 people have gone missing there in a short period of time.

■Characters & Voice Actors
The main protagonist, Kamado Tanjoirou, is a good boy. He joins the demon-hunting organization, the Demon Slayer Corps, to turn his younger sister, who became a demon, human again and to seekrevenge for his family. He is played by voice actor Hanae Natsuki, who is known for the role of Kaneki Ken in “Tokyo Ghoul” and for the role of Arima Kousei in “Your April lie”.

His younger sister, Kamao Nezuko, was turned into a demon that eats human flesh and blood, but Nezuko resists it and fights to protect people. She is played by the young voice actress Kitou Akari.
And it is Shimono Hiro and Matsuoka Yoshitsugu who play Agatsuma Zenitsu and Inosuke Kohei who are in sync with the Demon Slayer Corps. Zenitsu is not confident in himself and often makes self-deprecating remarks. Inosuke has a mysterious appearance and always wears the head of a wild boar, and has a warlike personality.

Also, there are nine people in the Demon Slayer Corps who have the strongest ability of the organization called the “Pillars”. In this movie, the “Flame Pillar” Rengoku Kyoujirou appears. He is played by Hino Satoshi, who is known for many roles, including Sawamura Daichi in “Haikyu!!”, Shinkai Hayato in “Yowamushi Pedal”, and Hino Satoshi in “The Disastrous Life of Saiki Kusuo”.

And in this work, it is the low ranking demon Enmu that stands against Tanjirou and the others. Appearing in the final episode of the TV anime, while other low-ranking demons were killed by Kibutsuji Muzan one after another, he was the only one who could endure intoxication and gain even more power.
Hirakawa Daisuke, who plays the role of Ryugazaki Rei in the “Free!” series, plays the character with a mysterious charm.

The theme is sung by LiSA who was in charge of the opening song in the TV anime. The song’s name is “Homura”. This work is a tag-team with Kajiura Yuki, who worked on the ED of the TV anime.

LiSA’s latest single, “Homura”, will be released in three editions: a time-limited edition with illustrations of Rengoku Kyoujirou, the character from “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train”, the first-run limited edition with an eye-catching sleeve case design, inspired by lantern “Homura” motif, and a regular edition featuring LiSA’s visuals.

■Admission Benefits
The admission benefits include “Kimetsu no Yaiba Rengoku Reikan Vol.”, drawn by the original manga author, Gotouge Koyoharu. This is a special booklet bearing the name of “Flame Pillar” Rengoku Kyoujirou, who faces this mission together with Tanjirou and his younger sister, Nezuko.

To commemorate the release of this movie, two nights have been set aside to broadcast the TV anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” and on the first ground based national network golden prime band “Fuji TV Saturday Premium”.

On the first night of the broadcast on Oct. 10, “Brother and Sister Bonds” consist of ep. 1 to 5 of the anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”, which show the first big test of the main character, Tanjirou, and his sister, Nezuko.

The second night “Mount Natagumo Edition” of the broadcast on Oct. 17, consists of episodes from 15 to 21, which is composed of the death battle stories of Tanjirou, who was ordered to go to Mt. Natagumo.

Moreover, “Jump Special Anime Fest 2020” will be held online from 01:00 p.m.on Oct. 11, just before the release. In the “Demon Slayer:Kimetsu no Yaiba” corner, a talk show will be held by three people, Hanae Natsuki, who plays Tanjirou, Kito Akari, who plays Nezuko, and Hino Satoshi, who plays Rengoku Kyoujirou.
The talk show will be streamed on YouTube on the Official Jump Channel on that day. It’s a premium online event that can only be seen here.

■Manga Original
The original manga “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is drawn by Gotouge Koyoharu and was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump”. The serialization began in the 11th issue of 2016 and reached the final chapter in the 24th issue of “Weekly Shonen Jump” released on May 18, 2020, ending the serialization for about 4 years and 3 months. The cumulative sales of the series have exceeded 80 million, up to the latest 21st volume “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” which is currently available.

Also, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” Vol. 22 will be released on Oct. 2, and Volume 23 will be released on Dec. 4. By the way, a bundled version with goods is available for pre-order, so please check it out if you are interested.
