‘Sanrio Character Ranking 2023’ announced the results for the first day of voting. Cinnamoroll, aiming for its fourth consecutive win, has taken the top spot. ‘Sanrio Character Ranking’ is an annual event that began in 1986 on Sanrio’s annual magazine ‘Ichigo Shimbun (The Strawberry News)’ and is now in its 38th year. Over 450 Sanrio characters are evaluated based on the number of votes they receive from both the internet and Sanrio stores. This year, the event features a new category named the ‘2023 Sanrio Character Ranking: Partner Category’, which includes 26 Sanrio characters partnered with corporationsand local governments. On April 11, the first day of voting, web votes were cast between 11:00 and 23:59.
