Kyoto Animation will release its first new anime in six years, “CITY THE ANIMATION”, based on the manga by “Nichijou” creator Arawi Keiichi, in 2025. Along with the announcement, a teaser visual has been unveiled, with voice cast members including Komatsu Mikako, Toyosaki Aki, and Ishikawa Yui. The original work for “CITY THE ANIMATION” is the girls' run comedy “CITY”, created by Arawi Keiichi, who is also known for “Nichijou”. The manga was serialized in “Morning” from 2016 to 2021. It portrays the lives of slightly eccentric people living in an ordinary "CITY," focusing on characters such as broke college student Nagumo Midori, Niikura, and Wako. The anime is directed by Ishidate Taichi, known for works like “Beyond the Boundary” and “Violet Evergarden”.
