The anime "Kaiju No. 8" is set to be adapted into a game for smartphones and PCs for the first time. Alongside this announcement, the first trailer featuring intense battles between Kaiju No. 8 and the Defense Corps' 3rd Division, as well as a key visual with the tagline "Break through. A strike from the Kaiju dimension," have been released. "Kaiju No. 8" is a TV anime based on Matsumoto Naoya 's manga, which has been serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+" since July 2020. The manga has over 13 million copies in circulation, including digital editions, and has won numerous manga awards. The story is set in a world where kaiju frequently threaten people. Hibino Kafka, who works in kaiju clean-up, rekindles his dream of joining the "Japan Defense Force" to fight kaiju. Just as he starts pursuing this dream again, he is transformed into a powerful kaiju by a mysterious small kaiju. Named "Kaiju No. 8," Kafka becomes a fugitive throughout Japan but continues to fight against kaiju disasters while holding onto his dream of becoming a defense force member. The game adaptation for smartphones and PCs is a joint project planned, produced, developed, and operated by Akatsuki Games, with participation from Toho and Production I.G, who are also involved in the anime. Following the airing of episode 10 of the anime, a teaser site, official X (formerly Twitter), official YouTube channel, and a special recruitment site for game developers were launched. The first trailer, revealed simultaneously with the announcement, depicts intense battles between Kaiju No. 8 and the Defense Corps' 3rd Division in a city ravaged by kaiju attacks. Izumo Haruichi is an elite graduate of Tokyo Neutralization University and is the heir to Izumo Tech, the leading domestic manufacturer of anti-kaiju weapons.
Kaguragi Aoi, a young hope of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, aims to join the Defense Force. Though he doesn't show his emotions, he is always calm and values teamwork. With the announcement, visuals for each character were released, and comments from Shin, Komoto, and Takeuchi were also shared.

On June 8, 2024, it was announced on the official X account that a new project for the anime "Kaiju No. 8" will launch. "Kaiju No. 8" is based on the manga series currently serialized in "Shonen Jump+" (published by Shueisha). The TV anime adaptation began airing on April 13, 2024. The story follows Hibino Kafka, who works for a kaiju cleanup company. After being transformed into a powerful kaiju by a mysterious small kaiju, he is named "Kaiju No. 8". Despite being hunted by the Japanese government, Kafka refuses to give up on his dream of joining the Defense Force and continues to fight against the kaiju disasters. In Episode 9, titled "Raid on Tachikawa Base", which aired on June 8, a group of kaiju suddenly attacks the Tachikawa Base while Ashiro Mina is absent, as the search for the human-disguised "Kaiju No.9" continues. The leader of the winged dragon-type kaiju, which usually do not form groups, is revealed to be a new "Daikaiju" with intelligence and the ability to understand human language. As if enjoying the battle, this monster sets its sights on the strongest member of the force present, Hoshina Soshiro.
