The second season of the TV anime "Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online," a spinoff of "Sword Art Online," is set to air in 2024 after six years, with character visuals and returning cast information also revealed.
"Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online" (GGO) is the second season of the TV anime based on the work of Kawahara Reki, author of "Sword Art Online" (SAO), and illustrated by the duo of writer Tachibana Koushi and character designer Kuroboshi Kouhaku, serialized in "Dengeki Bunko." It is a "gun action" spinoff of "SAO" set in the next-generation VRMMO "Gun Gale Online," where Kirito and Sinon first meet.
The first season of the TV anime, aired in April 2018, depicted a battle royale with bullets flying between the protagonist, Llenn, and her arch-enemy, Pitohui. The detailed depiction of firearms and the powerful battle scenes have been highly praised not only by SAO fans but also by gun enthusiasts and international anime fans.
While the production of the second season of "GGO" and the return of Kusunoki Tomori as Llenn were announced in 2023, the airing schedule has now been confirmed for 2024. Additionally, returning cast members Hikasa Yoko as Pitohui, Okitsu Kazuyuki as M, and Akasaki Chinatsu as Fukajiro, along with new character visuals, have been revealed. Kazuyuki Okitsu & Ai Kayano Join as the Protagonist’s Parents! ‘My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex’
Kazuyuki Okitsu and Ai Kayano have been added to the cast of the summer anime ‘My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex’’ (broadcast starts on July 6). ‘My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex’ is a romantic comedy based on the light novel by Kyosuke Kamishiro, which won the grand prize in the romantic comedy category of the 3rd Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest and is currently being published by "Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko". The story revolves around Mizuto Irido and Yume Ayai, a former couple who unexpectedly reunite as stepchildren of their parents’ marriage, and how they cannot help but be aware of each other living under the same room with their memories. The additional cast information revealed that Kazuyuki Okitsu and Ai Kayano will play Mineaki Irido and Yuni Irido, the parents of the main characters who decide to have a marriage.
