SUNRISE BEYOND, a new group company of SUNRISE that has produced numerous robotics works such as "Mobile Suit Gundam," and BANDAI SPIRITS, which specializes in high-targeted goods, have teamed up to produce a full-fledged robot animation "Kyoukai Senki," which will begin full-scale development in the fall of 2021. "Kyoukai Senki" is SUNRISE BEYOND's first original work that depicts the 16-year-old protagonist Shiiba Amou, who is not good at socializing, and the autonomous AI "Gai" as they fight to reclaim Japan. It is a next generation high quality robot animation that has been thoroughly studied from the planning stage to the design, action, direction, and product linkage in collaboration with BANDAI SPIRITS. The main mechanical designer of the humanoid special mobile weapon "AMAIM" that appears in this work is KEN OKUYAMA DESIGN, led by industrial designer Okuyama Kiyoyuki, bringing a real industrial design perspective into the animation. The result is a distinctive mecha design with a sense of realism and functional beauty that sets it apart from conventional robot mecha designs. The technology of BANDAI SPIRITS has been brought together to create "AMAIM" plastic models and figures that combine unprecedented realism and functional beauty. "Kyoukai Senki" is currently in production for release this fall. In addition, the "Kyoukai Senki" plastic model series "HG 1/72 Kembu" will be commercialized to coincide with the start of the show, and the "Kyoukai Senki" Gaiden series will be serialized in the September 2021 issue of "Monthly Hobby Japan" (scheduled to be released on July 21), prior to the anime. The action figure of the machine "Kenbu" of the protagonist of the robotic anime "Kyoukai Senki" by the partnership between Bandai Spirits and Sunrise Beyond, the new group company of Sunrise, has been announced. This figure will be under "Robot Tamashi" and it will be released in October 2021 in general storefronts. The product "Robot Tamashi 'Side AMAIM' Kenbu" is a completed action figure of "Kenbu", the humanoid special mobile weapon (AMAIM) that the main protagonist Shiiba Amou pilots. Despite it appearance of an industrial machine, it has ball joints all over the body allowing the agile movement just like in the work. It has a metallic coloring, opening and closing mechanism of the cockpit, and the cylinder on the chest is movable, which expressed the reality of this work. The story takes place in the Pacific Ocean of the 18th century with the young girl with an unyielding spirit, Fena as the main protagonist. It depicts her adventure with the elites of the Sanada household, which serves her family for generations, to their destination "Eden" while overcoming the difficulties faced on the route to it. Rumble Garanndoll "Rumble Garanndoll" is the latest animation by Lerche with the original character design by Watanabe Akio, known for the "Monogatari" series and "The World God Only Knows". The story takes place in the parallel world of Japan, where the sub-cultures, such as manga, anime, and idols, have died out. It depicts the activities of the "Denchi Shoujo" that is affiliated with the secret organization "Arahabaki" that is fighting to protect the sub-culture. Kyoukai Senki The animation "Kyoukai Senki" is the latest work of director Habara Nobuyoshi, known as the director of the "Fafner of the Blue Sky" series. The staff lineup, includes Ebikawa Kanetake, known for the mechanical design of the "Gundam Build Fighters" series, as the mechanical designer, and it has become a hot topic anime as the plastic model was released before the anime broadcast. This work takes place in the near future of 2061, and it depicts the young boy fighting to restore Japan, which was being governed as several separate countries, back as one whole country. The selling point is the passionate robot action of the "AMAIM" between the separate rulers’ army and main protagonists. During the advanced screening of episode 1, the narrative was quite light despite it having a profound theme. Among that, do check out the interaction between the main protagonist Shiiba Amou (voiced by Satou Gen) and his supporting AI Gai (voiced by Fujiwara Natsumi). One of the charms of the original anime is that it reflected the color of the creators. As the original anime that will start in fall have different colors, do watch and enjoy it thoroughly.
