‘Tokyo Revengers’ will be featured in the ‘Weekly Shonen Magazine’ 4-5 merger issue (release date: 12/22/2021) on the front cover and the lead-off colored pages. Also, for two consecutive issues, the magazine will come with the “Japan Revengers” stickers, a sticker version of local ads featuring different prefectures. The ads were originally published in Asahi Shimbun Morning Edition in September.
“Tokyo Revengers” is a large-scale manga and the latest work by Wakui Ken, the manga artist known for ‘Shinjuku Swan’. The serialization started in ‘Weekly Shonen Magazine’ in 2017, and the total number of printed copies has exceeded 40 million.
The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, a part-time worker whose life has hit rock bottom.. One day, he learns that Hinata Tachibana, the only love of his life back from middle school, was murdered by the worst gang “Tokyo Manjikai”. The next day, Takemichi is pushed off the train track by someone. He has a brush with death, but somehow he time travels back to 12 years ago in middle school, where he was at the peak of his life.
In order to save his lover and change himself who always escapes from reality, Takemichi starts his revenge.
Along with Mikey covering the ‘Weekly Shonen Magazine’ 4-5 merger issue, ‘Tokyo Revengers’ Christmas special illustrations will be in the lead-off colored pages, including an illustration of Mikey in a Santa Claus costume.
In addition, as a free gift, “Japan Revengers” stickers for 24 prefectures from the Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Hokuriku, Chubu, and Kansai (part 1) areas will come with the magazine. Stickers for the Kansai (part 2), Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa areas will be in the 6 issue.
