The “Doublupin” (Double + Lupin) special collaboration between the fall anime “Lupin the Third PART 6” and “Lupin’s Daughter the Movie” (to be released on October 15), has been announced. Visuals of Lupin III and Mine Fujiko with Mikumo Hana (Fukada Kyouko) have been revealed.
“Lupin the Third” is a Nippon TV anime about Lupin III, the grandson of the world’s greatest thief Arsene Lupin, and his friends Jigen Daisuke, Ishikawa Goemon, and Minefujiko, as well as his rival Inspector Zenigata and other unique characters.
“Lupin’s Daughter” is a TV drama that was broadcast on Fuji TV for two cours in 2019 and 2020. The show depicts the forbidden love between Mikumo Hana, daughter o the “L Family” of generations of thieves, and Sakuraba Kazuma, son of a police family. It became popular for its all-out joking, intense action in thieve suits, unique posing, and musical direction.
In commemoration of the new development of the two titles that bear the name “Lupin”, “Lupin the Third PART 6”, which started on October 9, and “Lupin’s Daughter the Movie”, which is scheduled to be released on October 15, a special collaboration between two TV stations called “Doublupin” has been realized.
On October 7, “Lupin’s Daughter the Movie” Twitter account received a message from Lupin III saying, “I’ll take what’s important to you,” and “Lupin the Third PART6” Twitter account received “We’re coming to take what’s important to you,” from the L Family.
And the videos released on each official YouTube channel on October 9 seemed to be normal trailers, but the title calls at the end were switched, turning it into a collaboration of stealing each other’s advertisements.
On October 12, two new visuals were released: Lupin III and Mikumo Hana standing side to side along with the words, “Thief x Thief. This winter, watch out for the two Lupins,” and Mine Fujiko in a biker suit and Mikumo Hana, two “female thieves” appearing together for the first time with the meaning full words, “Women have various faces.”
By the way, the “extraordinary thing” that Lupin III stole from “Lupin’s Daughter the Movie” will be revealed in “Lupin the Third PART 6”.

The “Lupin the Third” series created by Monkey Punch-sensei is very tolerant, and throughout the 50 years since it was adapted to an anime, various works have been created by numerous creators with free ideas and expressions, fascinating fans for a long time.
It’s an honor to be able to collaborate across boundaries with “Lupin’s Daughte”, an equally flexible, profound, and wonderful work.

Lupin III-sama, I’m honored to be stolen something by you. I’m afraid it was presumptuous of us to steal from you too. I still find it hard to believe I could have such a miraculous collaboration with “Lupin the Third”, which I have loved from my heart since my childhood. I hope everyone can also enjoy this collaboration over boundaries between anime and live-action, and between different TV channels.
