Hanae Natsuki, voice actor of Kamado Tanjiro from “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”, is part of the main cast of the movie “Gyoko no Nikuko-chan” which premiered on Jun. 11, 2021. The movie is based on the original novel written by Nishi Kanako, and was awarded the 152nd Naoki prize holding a sales record of 350,000 copies. Akashiya Sanma was involved as a producer in the the anime movie. The plot follows a journey of growth of Nikuko-chan and Kikuko, a mother and daughter living on a boat in a fishing harbor. The next day after the release was announced, voice actor Hanae Natsuki was also announced as being part the cast, quickly raising awareness to the movie. Hanae voices Kikuko’s classmate, Ninomiya, a young boy who plays an important role in the development of the story. We have interviewed Hanae via email and asked questions about the highlights of the movie and production anecdotes involving Akashiya Sanma. ■ What was some of the advice received from Akashiya Sanma? "He was there for the recording, but..." —How did you feel when you were first proposed the role, given that Akashiya Sanma was involved as a producer? Hanae: When I first got the proposal through my agency I was told that Sanma would be producing it. But I only decided to accept the role after taking a close look at the development papers from STUDIO4°C. I was quite impressed by the retrograde aesthetic of the visuals, such as the decaying fishing harbor town, which evoked a sense of nostalgia, and I also found myself being fond to the work as a whole. —What was your first impression of Akashiya Sanma? Hanae: I grew up watching him on the TV since I was a child, so the impression I have of him is of "being that guy on the screen". He always seems to be enjoying himself when he talks, and that puts me in a happy mood. —The original novel by Nishi Kanko won the 152nd Naoki Prize selling more than 350,000 copies. What's your opinion about the novel after reading it alongside the screenplay script? What did you find interesting about it? Hanae: The dialogues between Nikuko and Kikuko were very funny. And the plot twist is compelling as well. Despite being narrow in terms of themes touched upon, the world building itself felt huge. Also I was looking forward to seeing what kind of way Nikuko was going to turn out on the big screen since her sense of presence in the original work is so powerful; and the movie ended up blowing my expectations. I think it turned out this great due to the visual quality of the animation and the superb performance by Otake (Nikuko’s voice). —What kind of character is Ninomiya, the young boy you voiced? Hanae: Ninomiya isn’t a character who gets much of the spotlight. However, he serves as a guiding light for Kikuko, reminding through his dialogues with her about what the important things really are. —In regards to character building, what were some specific things you were careful about or what were some foundational points that served as a basis for your performance? Hanae: Ninomiya is a mysterious kid. I was given some pointers from the director such as “to speak in a way that almost sounds like he is engaged in a conversation but at the same time isn’t”, and “saying all the things he wants to say one sidedly during the dialogues”; so I decided to focus on that. Because of that I feel that my character has the smallest voice among all the characters that appear in the movie…. (laugh). Also, people normally don’t really pay any special attention to stuff like voice intonation or the way they speak when they're talking to others, let alone an elementary school kid like Ninomiya . So I tried to voice him in a natural manner as much as possible rather than focusing on more technical aspects of performing. —Was there any particular directing orders from Akashiya Sanma in regards to voice acting? Hanae: There was this time when I stuttered during the recordings. Sanma was present during that, and he told me to be careful about it (laughs). —In Jan. 21, 2021 you appeared on his show “Sanma no Manma”. Do you have further appearances scheduled? Hanae: Well I was very nervous during the show, but it was a lot of fun at the same time. I would love very much to make another appearance if another opportunity presents itself in the future! —Anything you want to say to the audience who are about to see the movie? Hanae: It’s a movie made for people of all ages. You can watch it with your family, friends, or lover. And I think it’s the type of movie that changes people. After finishing it you’ll feel a little bit different inside when thinking about the important people in your life. I hope that people will be invigorated after seeing the powerfulness of Nikuko on the theaters. Do look forward to it. (c) 2021 “Gyoko no Nikuko-chan” Production Committee Distributed by Asmik Ace

Animedia, Nakasuji Kei It was decided that a portion of the radio program that was being broadcast by our company will be available for free for a limited time period. We believe that many individuals will spend their time at home during long vacations due to the emergency declaration that was made on April 25, 2021. Thus, while thinking about providing some entertainment to allow people to enjoy being at home, it might not be a lot, but we have decided to provide free viewing on some past broadcasts. There are also some other free contents that can be enjoyed on Nico Nico Video "Chou! Animedia", so please enjoyed both of them together. Various entertainment events have been postponed or canceled from 2020 till now, and there are also quite a few works that have their broadcast or released postpone in the anime industry as well. We also believe that there are those who are feeling down as the entertainment that they are looking forward to, are gone. As I am one of them as well. Among all those things, the thing that is supporting me is without a doubt "entertainment". "Entertainment" will become a supporting people to anyone. So, I am looking forward to the broadcast of the various future "entertainments" that have enriched my life.

Shimono Hiro and Uchida Maaya held the sports day in jerseys! It was shown in “SAY YOU to YOASOBI Tuesday 【Shimono Hiro×Uchida Maaya】#9” (broadcast on June 15, 2021), which was broadcast at new futuristic TV “ABEMA”’s “Anime LIVE Channel”. The program in the show was titled “The 3rd YOASOBI Tuesday Big Sports Day Special”, and Shimono and Uchida competed in 3 programs of: the obstacle race, tricycle race, and the large Jenga. ■Shimono Hiro and Uchida Maaya competed in 3 genres! The third “YOASOBI Big Sportsd Day” was held! Shimono and Uchida appeared in their jerseys for “The 3rd YOASOBI Tuesday Big Sports Day Special”. The show welcomed the announcer Kiyono Shigeki for narration and the two competed in team of 3 on the obstacle race, the tricycle race, and the large Jenga. Shimono and Uchida passionately commented that they “looked forward to the program” and “I feel like I have waited for this” toward the 3rd sportsd day. The 1st program was “The 6-stack Zaru Soba! The Obstacle Time Attack!” (Zaru Soba is noodles placed on the bamboo tray). They competed the time required to reach the goal by overcoming traps, kendama, and sidestepping with 6 trays in their hands. Shinomo easily cleared kendama in 2 tries, and finished sidestepping quickly with his high ability of adaption. Uchida, on the other hand, passed the string barrier, but took a longer time in kendama and sidestepping with trays. Shimono team won this part. The 2nd program was “The Tricycle Race with Great Speed”. The two performers rode on the tricycle each named “Hiro-kun Tricycle” and “Maaya-chan Tricycle”. Shimono burst out laughing when Kiyono commented on Uchida’s appearance, that “She (Uchida) looks just fit on the tricycle”. Uchida responded, “Silence!” while she showed a smile on her face. Uchida nicely drove her tricycle and the narration even commented, “Her appearance returned into as of a 3-year old girl”. However, Shimono struggled to spin the pedals and was left alone at the starting line. He reached the goal by kicking the ground and was able to get to the goal at the end. The supporting item was set in the middle of the race. While Uchida speeded up with her rocket card (being pulled by the staff), Shimono had to stop his tricycle due to blockade created by banana peels on the ground, created from his banana card. Shimono felt flustered by looking at Uchida reaching the goal. With 1 victory for each team, the show now reached to the final program. The final competition was “Gigantic Jenga Deathmatch”. While Shimono carefully chose the block to move, Uchida picked the blocks for her turn without any hesitation. Shimon reacted to this by saying, “Wow, this girl is scary”. As the competition continued, the safe blocks got fewer, and the each team exchanged their opinions by saying, “Try here once”, “Don’t rush, be calm”, and “careful when you place the block on the top”. Shimono and his team crashed the tower at the end, although they successfully moved the block out of the tower and was about to place it on the top. Shimono seemed to regret to lose, since he commented, “I am good at Jenga” before the start of the game. “The 3rd YOASOBI Tuesday Big Sports Day Special” ended with the victory of Team Uchida. Shimono summarized the show with his smile by saying, “There was the moment which all hearts of our team members became one”. The winner Uchida commented, “It was so fun that I want to do this again” and “I am glad that I could win the competition with this team”. The both teams seemed to enjoy the show throughout. © AbemaTV, Inc
"Say You to Yoasobi Tuesday 'Shimono Hiro X Uchida Maaya' #8", where the voice actors, Shimono Hiro and Uchida Maaya are the MC, was broadcast at "ABEMA" on June 8. Various corners, including "Stimulate your brain! The staff-made 'Spot the Difference'", where they have fun spotting the difference, were held. In this broadcast, "Stimulate your brain! The staff-made 'Spot the Difference'" was held. During this depressing rainy season, the staff had challenge Shimono and Uchida to a mental training game of 'spot the difference' to help them refresh their mind. At the start of the program, the staff asks the two of them, "Did you spot any difference when you came here?". Then, Uchida answered "Shimono's face and my face were exchanged on the key visual on the script!", and "There is a photo of Shimono face in my dressing room!" as she felt something odd, and talked about her surprise toward this sudden set-up, "It makes me so scared~". Shimono also got bewildered toward the sudden start of the "Spot the Difference", and answered with "For some reason, blazers could be found in my dressing room". The answers from both of them are correct. After both of them know the truth behind the abnormal situation, both of them give out a sigh of relief and said: "So those were all for this~". After that, the quiz corner, where Shimono and Uchida guess the voice during their first time as MC in 2019 by hearing the 3 years’ worth of "Yoasobi Shiyouze! (Let's have a fun night!)" from both of them, was held. After the five versions of "Yoasobi Shiyouze!" were broadcast, Uchida answered with D and mentioned that her voice has a hint of shyness in it. On the other hand, Shimono also answered with D as he said, "Somehow it seems like I am not used to it", and "From the disconnected (calling), I believe it should be the first broadcast in 2019". As the answer is D, both of them were able to found out on their first voice, and they also get the chance to view the video at that time also. When the first broadcast of "Say You to Yoasobi 2nd season", where both of them are the MC for the first time, was broadcast, the appearance of Shimono singing passionately can be seen. This caused the both of them to burst into laughter, and Shimono got embarrassed and said "I'm not sure what should I said now!" Shimono, who was teased by Uchida's "Doesn't Shimono's songs make you feel excited?", and "Somehow you look displeased", explained "I was told to start with 'Shimono-san's impromptu'" as it seem like he was instructed by the staff on this. After that, the both of them reviewed back on the past by saying "It was quite nerve-wracking at that time" "Maaya-chan, looks so mature now", "Ah, that is actually my own clothing" as the fun remains the same throughout these 3 years. Also, in the second half of the program, the "Delusion! 〇〇 Producing Talk", where they talk about "if" stories on producing various things, was held. This time, it will feature the theme "If Shimono Hiro is going to produce a karaage izakaya" as he talked about his delusion on his ideal karaage (Deep fried chicken) izakaya (Japanese pub). Shimono, who had mentioned that "I had seen this in my dream before", talk about his obsession with the karaage "There will have 2 types of flavors, which are Shouyu (Soy Sauce) and Shio (Salted) with huge variations on the topping" "The order of Karaage will be in gram!" and "The flour used will be slightly different based on the position of the meat". He also mentioned his glasses fetish by saying: "All the workers must wear glasses!", "The condition of working is whether you can wear glasses or not", and "There will be a discount for those wearing glasses". Thus, the ideal karaage izakaya filled with his delusions was born. （C）AbemaTV,Inc.
