Uemura Yuto-san’s birthday celebration! Who is your favorite character voiced by Uemura Yuto? 2020 Will Nakajima Atsushi ‘Bungo Stray Dogs’ get 1st place for two consecutive years?

Oct. 23 is Uemura Yuto-san’s birthday.

Uemura Yuto-san debuted as an voice actor after he was active as a child actor. He played in “Ahiru no Sora”, “I’m Standing on a Million Lives”, and “Moriarty the Patriot” in2020. He formed SparQlew, an unit by voice actors in 2017. They released their 2nd single ‘Helvetica’ on Sep. 16, 2020. He also started streaming on his channel ‘Uemura Yuto no Yuuki Saibai (lit. Courage Cultivation)’ on Niconico.

Here at Anime!Anime!, to celebrate his birthday, we conducted a readers’ survey titled, ‘Who is your favorite character voiced by Uemura Yuto?’, again as last year. The survey was conducted from Oct. 9 to Oct. 16, and we received 132 answers.
The male-to-female ratio was about 15% to 85%, which means that the male readers accounted for a large percentage. About 50% of the readers were minors, 30% were in their twenties, which means that the young readers accounted for a large percentage.

■Nakajima Atsushi in ‘Bungo Stray Dogs’ has won 1st place for two consecutive years!
1st place
1st place went to Nakajima Atsushi in “Bungo Stray Dogs” again as last year with about 27% support ratings.

The readers praised his kindness, saying ‘I like him in that he is thoughtful about his friends and has a strong sense of justice while he is suffering from trauma.’, ‘Yuto-kun is the only one that can play Nakajima Atsushi, who is really strong-willed, and can get things done when he has to, even though he looks coward, timid.’

Some readers said that they got to know Uemura-san because of this work. The comment, ‘He seemed fresh on the radio of Bungo Stray Dogs, which is exactly I’ve imagined from the character. When I heard him react to the other voice actor’s joke, I felt as if I had been watching “Bungo Stray Dogs”, which made me feel comfortable.’, shows his popularity on radio as well.

2nd place
2nd place went to Amajiki Tamaki in “My Hero Academia” with about 15% support ratings. He moved up from 15th last year.

‘He is shy and coward, but never gives up making an effort to be a hero. I can tell his kindness to see him speak gently, and calmly.’
As these comments show, he is playing a negative character. Some reader left a comment for the mentally weak character, showing empathy.
‘I can empathize with him in many respects, so I was moved by his growth story.’

3rd place
3rd place went to Totsuka Tsukito in “Ludere Deorum” with about 10% support ratings. He moved up from 4th place last year.
Some readers praised his play that is growing sensitiveness little by little. ‘As the story develops, the character is getting more sensitive. I like him playing it.’ ‘I was thinking Tsukito-san is the person that rarely shows his feelings, but when I say him growing his sensitiveness, I was surprised.’
‘I still like the song “Hitohira”.’ ‘He was cute and pure when he appeared on the radio. I also liked his talk, and now I am a fan of him.’ His song and talk also attract the fans.

For Yuliy in “Sirius the Jaeger”.
‘Yuliy rarely shows his feelings, and has an atmosphere that keeps other people off. However, he sometimes show his thoughtful aspects, and ruthlessness to vampires. These are well recreated, and I was moved.’

For Leon Stephanotis in “Violet Evergarden”.
‘He recreated well the delicate, and pure feelings of the young man. I particularly like Uemura-san’s calm monologue, which makes me feel comfortable.’

For Masunaga Kazuna “B-PROJECT” series.
‘In contrast with his looks, he is actually strong-willed. Uemura-san’s voice is perfect for the character, and also deepens the world of the story. I really like it!’

For Sakuragi Hinata “Yumeiro Cast”.
Some readers voted for an application game that is no longer available. ‘He is younger than the people around him, and he is growing up as an individual while he is struggling with worries and conflicts as a consequence of his past as a talented child actor, which gave me energy!’

On the survey 2020, 1st place remained the same, but others are different from last year.
