2 new visuals for the NHK E Tele broadcast of the TV anime “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: The New Thesis” (starts on Apr. 6, 2020) have been released. They depict the “ever winning” Reinhard von Lohengramm and the “invincible magician” Yang Wen-li.

“Legend of the Galactic Heroes: The New Thesis” is based on the sci-fi novel, which has sold over 15 million copies, written by the renowned novelist, Tanaka Yoshiki. It has been animated since 1988, with an outstanding volume of 110 episodes of the main series, 52 episodes of side stories, and 3 animated features.
And in Apr. 2018, Production I.G has created “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: The New Thesis -Encounter” (12 episodes), a new interpretation of the series with galactic wars depicted in the latest technology. The 2nd season, “Stellar War” (episode 13 to 2), was screened at movie theaters in 2019.

Thousands of years in the future, the human race has advanced into outer space and split into two nations with different political systems, the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance. The conflict between the two nations has lasted for 150 years, and battles have been going on all over the limitless galaxy.
Both nations have been at war for so long. The gentry aristocracy has corrupted the Galactic Empire, and in the Free Planets Alliance, the democratic society has fallen into a mobocracy.
In the late 8th century of the Space Era, two extraordinary men, the “ever winning” Reinhard von Lohengramm and the “invincible magician” Yang Wen-li, are here to change history.

The TV anime “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: The New Thesis” will begin on Apr. 6, 2020, on NHK E Tele.
