Celebrating Abe Atsushi's birthday! Who is your favorite character played by him? 2020 ver. Will Osaka Sougo from "Ainana" rank in the 1st place for 2 consecutive years?

Mar. 25 is Abe Atsushi's birthday.

Abe Atsushi made the debut in 2000's. He won New Voice Actor Award in the 4th Seiyu Award.
In 2020, he plays the characters in the anime such as “A Certain Scientific Railgun T” and “Beyblade Burst Gachi”.

Here at Anime!Anime!, to celebrate Abe Atsushi's birthday, we conducted a readers' survey asking, “Who is your favorite character played by Abe Atsushi?” following the survey last year. The survey has been conducted from Mar. 12 to Mar. 19, and a total of 123 people answered.
The female readers made up the majority with the support rating of approximately 70%, while the male made up approximately 30%. The younger readers made up the majority, with 19 years old or younger readers made up approximately 40%, and 20's made up approximately 35%.

■”Ainana” Osaka Sougo ranked in the 1st place for 2 consecutive years! Two contrasting characteristics in him were popular

The 1st place was Osaka Sougo from “IDOLiSH7”. The support rating was approximately 50%, and stayed in the top as he did in the previous year.

He was popular for being unpredictable, and the comments related to it said, “He is always kind to others like an older brother, but he outrages when something bad happens to his members, he becomes a big baby when he gets drunk, and he loves spicy food like extremely spicy Szechuan sesame noodles. I like the cuteness in the gap of his characteristics!”, and “I like how he sometimes doesn't know the outside world because he is from the rich family, although he is earnest, elegant, and handsome”.
He charms the fans also with his singing voice, and there were comments from the readers favoring him as the member of MEZZO, an unit in IDOLiSH 7. Furthermore, there was a comment mentioning his live performance and it said, “I was fascinated by him playing a piano during 'Sakura Message'”.

The 2nd place was Kamijou Touma from “A Certain Magical Index”. The support rating was approximately 20%, and he ranked in the same place as the previous year.

Since this character is the role that he has been playing for over 10 years since 2008, there were several comments saying, “this is the anime which I learned about Abe Atsushi”. The character is supported for having a strong sense of justice, and the comments mentioned, “Kamijou-san is good in multiple fields! No other voice actor other than Abe-san can play the lecturing scenes by Kamijou”, and “He is cool because he always faces anyone from the front”.

The 3rd place is Ushio Hinomaru from “Hinomaru Sumo”. The support rating was approximately 7%.

The protagonist Ushio Hinomaru is the 1st-year student in Oodachi High School. He was not born with a blessed physique, but he gained a strong body through training. His dream is to become a yokozuna (the highest sumo ranker).
He received votes especially from the male readers for being brave and plays the game even though he faces a stronger opponent.

To Inaba Yuushi from “Elegant Yokai Apartment Life”: “His voice matched well with an image I had when I was reading the original novel”.

To Suzugamori Ren from “Card Fight! Vanguard”: “I love how he plays the character with duality well”.
To Mashiro Moritaka from “Bakuman.”: “He is the idealistic protagonist who had a triumph in both love and in work”.

The anime with idol, action and sports anime ranked higher. The result made us realize that he has been playing characters from the multiple genres.
