"Kyoto International Manga / Anime Fair 2023" (a.k.a. "Kyo Mafu 2023"), west Japan's largest manga/anime event, will be held on September 16 and 17. This year's event will be held with plenty of content such as collaboration projects with popular titles, exhibition booths, and stage events. "Kyoto Mafu" started in 2012 intending to expand the market for the content industry in the Kansai region centered on Kyoto by "creating new business opportunities utilizing manga and anime", "creating support for creators training and job opportunities", "attracting more tourists such as young people and foreigners", and "improving the brand power of Kyoto as a content city by disseminating manga and anime culture overseas." Not only has it become a big event with a lot of visitors in addition to manga/anime/game fans, but also it is now one of the biggest events in Kyoto that promote the industry by supporting creators and attracting more production companies to be established in Kyoto. This year marks the 12th anniversary.
