The Blu-ray and DVD of the live event "P’s LIVE! -Boys Side-" has been released on March 24. This event was held on October 17, 2020, in Makuhari Amphitheater, Chiba and featured a total of 19 voice actor singers of Pony Canon, including Shimono Hiro, Fukuyama Jun, and Oishi Masayoshi. This time, we will have a chat with Inoue Hiromi, from the Anime Creative Div. of Pony Canon, regarding the event planning as well as an unexpected story about the overall joke from the cast members. --"P's LIVE!" has held for 5 times since 2014, and this time it was the first male voice actor singer only live. Can you tell us when you came up with this idea? Inoue: Up until now, Pony Canon prided "P's LIVE!" has held for a few times and it mostly focused on the female voice actress singers. So, it is obvious that most of the audience are guys. Because of that we find it hard for male voice actor singer to participate in it. Then, 2 years ago, we received a proposal on "An event focusing on the male voice actor singer for the female audiences". -- So, that how's it all started. However, since it was held in 2020, does that mean it was difficult to adjust the schedule of all the performers? Inoue: That's right (haha). After the proposal we submitted was approved, we started to call out to the performers, adjust their schedules, and also finding a suitable venue for it, which took us nearly 2 years... Moreover, it was difficult to reserve a spot in the schedule of famous voice actors! -- However, due to that hardwork, the lineup consists of unique performers, isn't it? Inoue: That's right, but the difficulties didn't end yet. This is due to the sudden appearance of the coronavirus at the same time we had decided on the venue. However, as we can't predict the situation in October 2020, we have decided to change the event to be held in both physical and online format. -- That was a fast decision! (haha) Inoue: This is all thanks to the cooperation of everyone including the personnel of Anime Creative Div. -- Then, the physical event had ended safely with all the strict precautions taken. How will the management side respond to the future performance? Inoue: That's right! Maihama Amphitheater had already implemented all the strict precautions, so we welcomed the day after having a detailed precaution meeting beforehand with all the cast members taken the PCR test. Now that I think of it, we are quite lucky that this event was held in October as the 2nd wave of the emergency declaration was announced afterward. -- As expected, it is because all the personnel have united and took speedy actions toward the event, isn't it? Inoue: On the day itself, I can felt accomplishment of the cast members as well as the staff doing their respective task properly while working together for this event. This is only possible as it was an Omni-verse format live, which is created by all the cast members and staff. -- Regarding the main event, it was quite astonished that all the performers appeared and sang together right from the start of the event (haha). Inoue: Actually we have planned to create a theme song, but we find it hard for the performers to practice a new song as they have their own songs and the collaboration songs. Then, what strike us was the phrase from OxT's "UNION". -- So, the song was chosen because of that single sentence! Inoue: We believe that it is possible to transmit our current feeling directly to the audience via the chorus of "UNION". Normally, it would be performed in the end, but we purposely shifted it to the beginning instead. All the cast member also agreed on this performance, and it seems like it has a great impact since we have received a good responses from the audiences. -- I'm also one of them (haha). Inoue: However, as we are singing in the original key of Oishi-san, all the cast members said "It (The Key) is too high!" as they joked around (haha). The cast members are really grateful to the audience in the venue since they tried their best to wave the penlight as they can't make any sound. -- The thoughts were transmitted just by spectating it? By the way, as a 32-page special booklet will be included in both the normal and Kyanime Blu-ray, can you tell us the content of it? Inoue: It contains several fantastic photos that were taken by the appointed veteran photographer on the event. It also contains a special audio novelty and an audio commentary from Shimono Hiro-san, Toki Shunichi-san, and Sumiya Tetsuei-san from ParaHost. The three of them will have a fun conversation regarding the approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes live, so do look forward to it!! -- There is also a footage novelty, isn't it? Inoue: The footage novelty is "P’s Live! -Boys Side- BACK STAGE" that included the photo shooting for the pamphlets, rehearsal situations as well as the making video of the event date. We had also captured the situation of the next singer, who is preparing for his turns at the pop-up stage underneath the center of the main stage! Most of the cast members are feeling nervous, but there is one who is talking non-stop... (haha) Do search for this person. -- I believe that is quite predictable after watching the footage of the main event (haha). Then, for the last question, can you tell us the future developments of "P's LIVE!". Inoue: To be simple, we just want to have a full house where all the audience can shout as much as they want to show their support. Actually, if it wasn't for the coronavirus, there is something we have in planned.... but we will keep it a secret until next time. (haha). The anime song singer, Ooishi Masayoshi will suspend all activities involving his voice including singing, due to operation to remove the vocal cord polyp, from early Apr. to May 6, 2020. His condition is mild and the hospitalization from the surgery is only for a short time. He is planning to return with his solo performance held at "LINE CUBE SHIBUYA" on May 21. Ooishi Masayoshi is an anime song singer known for singing and providing many anime theme songs such as, "Kemono Friends", "SSSS.GRIDMAN", and so on. He got first place in the "Anime!Anime!" survey, "The musician who anime fans want to see in the Kouhaku Uta Gassen.", which took place in 2019. He is also known for his friendly personality, and when a photo was taken to check if the voice actor Sakurai Takahiro and Ooishi Masayoshi really look alike, fans reacted, "They're so alike! haha", "They look too much like each other, haha", "They're brothers aren't they?" Ooishi Masayoshi himself has announced his situation on Twitter, and many fans have posted comments to cheer him up.
