The movie "Twittering Birds Never Fly: The clouds gather" (premiering on Feb. 15) revealed its latest promotional cutscenes. In anticipation to the opening of the movie, the author of the series, Yoneda Kou and director of the movie Makita Kaori publicly commented on the release. "Twittering Birds Never Fly: The clouds gather" is originally a yaoi manga by Yoneda Kou and serialized on "ihr HertZ"(Taiyou Tosho), having printed a total of 1.5 million copies total. It will the first work produced by the label "BLUE LYNX" from Fuji TV. The story revolves around Yashiro a young mafia high-rank leader, who is secretly a masochist, and his bodyguard Domeki. The plot unfolds as the self-contradictory Yashiro and the submissive Domeki get close. What destiny awaits the characters that seek to fill each other's empty spaces? "Twittering Birds Never Fly: The clouds gather" will release on Feb. 15, 2020. <Commentaries> Author: Yoneda Kou I actually cried after I finished watching it. It stems from the helplessness and desolation of the story itself, and from the fact that I'm the author too. I'm very grateful for having my work turned into images and sounds. Director: Makita Kaori There's only a few days left until the release of the movie. And for some reason, it doesn't really feel real somehow. All the staff, cast, and artists have worked really hard in order to bring the atmosphere and mood of the original manga to life. For the fans of the series, and for the people watching the movie for the first time, please do watch over Yashiro and Domeki throughout their trajectory. Script: Seko Hiroshi The pain that Yashiro is holding inside him is something unspeakable of. It something painful and complicated that can't be easily explained in words. At the same time, it is something that we all have that inside us (whether we are aware of it or not). That's why I think many people will be able to relate to Yashiro and this movie somehow. I find it hard to argue against the fact that Domeki felt this way as well. (C)Yoneda Kou-Taiyou Tosho/"Twittering Birds Never Fly" Production Committee

He is a only son of Daimon-cho's landlord, which locates on the edge of Fukui. He begins to play volleyball seriously after re-encountering his childhood friend Haijima. He often fails in the important moments since he is weak to pressure, although he has a high physical ability. Voice Actor: Enoki Junya Q1. Please tell us your impression of this work. This is often misunderstood to be the sportsmen's stories since the theme is a volleyball, but this keeps characters' relationship precious as well, and therefore I felt that this also has a story to it. Q2. Please tell us your impression and enthusiasm on your character. Kuroba loves volleyball, at the same time, he is not thorough and weak to pressure. I want to see how he grows up by being affected by Haijima. I want to delicately play him also by feeling the atmosphere of Fukui, since the story is set there. Character: Haijima Kimichika Height: 181 cm Uniform Number: 8 Position: Center A first-year student in Nanafu Seiin High School. He moved Tokyo when he was in elementary school because of his parent's work. He was in the high school with a good winning record in volleyball, but he moves back to Fukui after this incident. He is a volleyball freak who only thinks about volleyball. Voice actor: Ono Kenshou Q1. Please tell us your impression on this work. My ame is Ono Kenshou, and I will be playing Haijima Kimichika. I read the novel for the first time at the time of the audience, and I got an impression that this novel makes me cheer the characters naturally because they work seriously on volleyball. Q. Please tell us the impression and enthusiasm on your character. Kimichika is a volleyball freak who distances himself away from others. I want to show his hidden passion toward volleyball behind the cool impression. I was relieved because he speaks without dialect, since all other characters speak with Fukui dialect... Character: Aoki Misao Height: 193 cm Uniform Number: 2 Position: Middle Blocker A 3rd-year student in Nanafu Seiin High School. He begins to play volleyball after being invited by Oda after entering the high school. He is a smart student who is the vice captain the club and is the vice president of the student council, but has a bad mouth. Voice Actor: Umehara Yuuichirou Q1. Please tell me your impression on this work. This reminds me of youth because the characters devote themselves into volleyball so much. Passion and anxiety can be related by both people who were the athletes and those who were not. Also, this work sound more realistic by dialects. Q2. Please tell us your impressions and enthusiasm on your character. Aoki Misao is a smart boy who behaves as he is a easy-going minded. His passion toward volleyball is true, although he often hides his true feelings. I feel the way how Aoki supports the captain Oda very charming. I think you can enjoy the relationship between the two. I feel dialect as a challenging factor while I play him. Character: Oda Shinichirou Height: 163 cm Uniform Number: 1 Position: Wing Spiker A 3rd-year student in Nanafu Seiin High School. He is the captain of boy's volleyball club. He has passion toward volleyball than anybody else, but thinking to quit volleyball after graduation because he does not have enough height. Voice Actor: Itou Kento Q1. Please tell us your impression of this work. I learned that "2.43", the number in the title, is the height of the net for boy's volleyball. An actual number makes the net looks higher. This youth story contains passion, sadness and impatience through the sport played over the net, and I felt that this is charming. Q2. Please tell us your impression and enthusiasm on your character. The first impression is that he is short. Shortness of his height is evident when he stands by his teammates, although he is a captain and a wing spiker. To be honest, I never worried about my height. This is a new experience for me because this is a mixture of excitement and nervousness when facing Oda and playing him. Character: Kanno Akihito Height: 181 cm Uniform Number: 4 Position: Wing Spiker A 2nd-year student in Nanafu Seiin High School. He participates in the girl's volleyball club practice when the boys are practicing outside because he cannot exercise outside much due to his health conditions. Voice Actor: Aoi Shouta Q1. Please tell me your impression on this work. This work neatly depicts each character's feelings, including the misunderstandings often occurring in youth, and I think both volleyball players and non-volleyball players can enjoy this! Q2. Please tell me your impression and enthusiasm on your character. Akihito is a really nice boy, but he cannot exercise long in outdoors because he skin is weak. I want to deliver Akihito's good points through my acting. Fukui Publicist Comment: Aoi Shouta I am so honored to be nominated for this position! I will do my best to complete my task. Character: Ookuma Yuusuke Height: 187 cm Uniform Number: 10 Position: Middle Blocker A 2nd-year student in Nanafu Seiin High School. He switched to the volleyball from different club after being invited by the vice president Aoki. He has no delicacy than anyone else. Voice Actor: Kimura Subaru Q1. Please tell me your impression on this work. The novel by Kabei Yukako-sensei has neat depiction of the characters, and Yamakawa Aiji-san's illustration was heart-touching. I am already excited to be the part of this! Q2. Please tell me your impression and enthusiasm on your character. My name is Kimura Subaru, and I will be playing Ookuma Yuusuke. I felt him as interesting and dynamic characters since I first read his lines, so I will do my best to deliver the world view of this anime neatly as possible, so please look forward to it! The author: Kabeki Yukako This novel will become anime with many support since the serialization in 2012. "2.43" means "2m43cm", and also the height of net generally for boys and "Spring High School Volleyball Competion", so please measure it once. I am looking forward to see the games in animation held at much higher spot than the net. There are wonderful staff participating for this anime. The fans of the novel, the fans who learned about this by anime adoption, and the volleyball fans- please look forward to this. There is also a collaboration with Fukui Pref., where the story is taking place. Fukuoka? Fukushima? No, Fukui! Please also learn about Fukui. Voice actor Kaji Yuuki will be playing the role of the "Grim Reaper" in the latest edition of the "Tales of the Unusual" series, "Tales of the Unusual '21 Summer Special Edition" (airing June 26, 2021) on Fuji Television Network. We have received a comment from Kaji-san about this. “Tales of the Unusual" started airing as a regular drama in April 1990. Since then, it has been broadcasted twice a year in the form of special editions and has created a bizarre world of stories by crossing writers and scriptwriters who represent each era with gorgeous actors. The latest series "Tales of the Unusual '21 Summer Special" features four "strange" episodes. Kaji-san will appear in one of them, "Dead in 15 Seconds”. This will be his first video appearance in a Fuji TV drama. Kaji-san plays the role of the "Grim Reaper" in this drama. He appears to pick up Mikami Megumi (played by Kichise Michiko), a pharmacist who has died after being shot in the back, and tells her that she has 15 seconds left to live. Kaji-san wears special makeup to play this role. Watch out for the heated theatrical battle with Kichise-san. Kaji-san also commented on his appearance in the "Tales of the Unusual '21 Summer Special Edition". “Tales of the Unusual 21: Summer Special" will be broadcasted on June 26, 2021 from 9:00 p.m. on Fuji Television Network. Comments from Kaji Yuuki --How did you feel when you were asked to be in this movie? I'm not a fan of so-called "scary stories", but when I was in elementary school, I plucked up the courage and came into contact with a horror/occult film for the very first time. I was shocked by the fact that the stories were not just "scary" but also "strange," and ever since then it has become my favorite series. I feel that this drama has a wide range of appeal, from stories that make you laugh to those that bring you to tears. --Your impression after reading the script. It was very interesting, and I was excited to read the script until the end. This is, as the title says, a "Tale of the Unusual". --About the role of the "Grim Reaper" in this story. I felt that it was a very playful character that would have a variety of images depending on the reader. I also felt that it was a very difficult role to play. --What are your impressions of the role you actually played? I played the role while thinking about the intention of casting myself as a voice actor and hoping that I could create a sense of "discomfort" in a good way with my voice and acting. After all, the very existence of the "Grim Reaper" itself is foreign to me (laughs). I really enjoyed the challenge of playing a role that I had never played before, even in voice acting. --They put on special makeup for the play.... It was my first time to use special makeup, so I was simply happy. Moreover, I didn't know that JIRO-san, a top artist in this field, would do my makeup. I was impressed by his exquisite skill in taking the "cat" element of the original story and making it look somewhat human. It was an invaluable experience for me. --What were your impressions of working with Kichise-san? It was a two-people show from beginning to end. It was a very stimulating time to interact with Kichise-san, who is a very senior actor. I also learned a lot from her because of her wonderful behavior as a theater director. I was honored to be able to perform with her. --Have you yourself had any strange experiences like this, which cannot be explained by modern society? A few years ago, when I was climbing Mt. Fuji. In the middle of the night, weI witnessed several lights moving in a group, which were clearly different from airplanes... that was what my friend who was climbing with me said (laughs). --Please give a message to the viewers. It's a bit scary and mysterious, just like "Tales of the Unusual" should be. I hope that I was able to create a character that will leave a lasting impression on the viewers, so that they will be aware of the existence of the "Grim Reaper" at any moment in their lives. Please look forward to the broadcast! (C) Fuji Television Network, Inc.
