It was announced that the collaboration match between "Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night" and the pro baseball team, Yomiuri Giants will be held on October 2, 2021, on Tokyo Dome, during the match with Yokohama DeNA Baystars. Prior to the event, the original visual was released together with the information on the goods and event. It was announced that for this collaboration, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (voice of the main protagonist Kirito) will appear during the ceremonial first pitch, and he will be handling the venue announcement. Other than Matsuoka, it was newly announced that Taketatsu Ayana (voice of Leafa) and Yasumoto Hiroki (voice of Egil) will also appear during the ceremonial first pitch, venue's event, and the special streaming "Giants Live Stream".
