Anohana Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Special Movie Screening!
“Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day” will be celebrating its 10th anniversary through a screening of the movie “Anohana the Movie”. “Anohana” tells the story of 5 friends, who grew apart due to an unfortunate incident; and “Menma”, the girl who never grows up. The dramatic tale of these 6 boys and girls have moved the hearts of the audiences since its original airing in 2011, quickly raising in popularity and eventually becoming a beloved series by many fans in Japan. Anohana will commemorate its 10th anniversary since the anime first broadcast by screening the movie during a special event on Jun. 23, the date in which the final episode originally aired. Director Nagai Tatsuyuki and voice actor Kondo Takayuki (Hisakawa Tetsudo, aka Poppo) will take part in a talk show during the event. The creditless opening sequence with the song “Aoi Shiori” performed by the band Galileo Galilei has also been made available online to celebrate the occasion. “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day” movie screening special event will be held at Shinjuku Vault 9 on Jun. 23 starting from 18:45. From “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day”, celebrating the 10th anniversary since the TV anime broadcast, Blu-ray BOX set titled “10years after BOX” will be released. Pre-order is currently available at “ANIPLEX+” and other stores. Moreover, the anime episodes specially chosen will be broadcast on YouTube. “10years after BOX” is the first and the last Blu-ray box of “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day”, which marked the 10th anniversary of TV anime this year. It contains all 11 episodes of TV anime and the movie. Jacket design is drawn by Tanaka Masayoshi, who designed the characters for the anime. Moreover, the 100-page booklet with 10 years of thought, CD recording “secret base~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~” 10th anniversary version, which was newly recorded after 10 years, and the special T-shirt that Jintan wears in the 10th anniversary illustration also come with the Blu-ray. Also on YouTube, 4 episode selection of TV series will be streamed. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the TV broadcast of "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day", a special screening will be held at "Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2021" (hereafter, known as TAAF2021) "TAAF2021" is an international animation film festival that will be held from March 12 to March 15, 2021, in Ikebukuro. The "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day" 10th anniversary's special screening on March 13 is consists of 3 episodes, which are Episode 1 "Super Peace Busters", Episode 5 "Tunnel", and Last Episode "The Flower Blooming on That Summer. After the screening, director Nagai Tatsuyuki and the character designer/ general art director Tanaka Masayoshi will appear and talk about their thoughts on that time as well as the production's secrets that can only be said now as 10 years have passed. "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day" 10th anniversary's special screening will be held at Ikebukuro's Humax Cinema, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, on March 13.
