It has been announced that Ashida Mana, voices Okami-sama, a mysterious girl that wears a mask of wolf, from the theatrical anime “Lonely Castle in the Mirror”. Her shout of joy has also arrived.

The movie “Lonely Castle in the Mirror” is based on a successful novel by Tsujimura Mizuki, which has over 1.6 million copies in circulation, and won 9 awards, including Japan Booksellers’ Award in 2018 with the greatest number of votes in history and first prize in Kadokawa’s Da Vinci magazine “Book of the Year2021” (Paperback Category).
The story depicts a fantasy mystery that arises in the “Castle in the Mirror” with the protagonist Kokoro, a middle school girl who is cooped up at home after losing where she belonged at her school.

The voice of Okami-sama, a mysterious girl that wears a mask of wolf in the theatrical anime “Lonely Castle in the Mirror”, which has been a hot topic on SNS, was announced to be handled by Ashida Mana.
Ashida is a popular and talented actress who has won “Rookie of the Year” Award at the 35th Japan Academy Awards for her role in “Ghost: In Your Arms Again” (2011), and plays a lead character in many popular works such as “BL Metamorphosis” released on June 17, 2022. She also made her Hollywood debut in “Pacific Rim” (2013), one of the greatest Hollywood SF movies. Do look forward to her role as the key person in the film.

The theatrical anime “Lonely Castle in the Mirror” will premiere on December 23, 2022.


Ashida Mana

I am a big fun of Tsujimura Mizuki-san. I am so glad that I could be part of my favorite story, but at the same time it still seems unbelievable.
When I first read the original novel, I was around the same age as the protagonist and other characters, and thought how they spoke for us that well.
After reading it again as I grew older, their honest and pure feelings certainly remind me of something. It is one of the characteristics of the works by Tsujimura-san that connects adults and children.
I hope both young people as Kokoro and older adults enjoy the film.
