To commemorate the release of director Hosoda Mamoru’s latest work “Belle: The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” on July 16, “Mirai” (2018) that won the Best Animation Award in the 42nd Japan Academy Film Prize will be available on the online streaming service “Hulu” on June 1, making this the fastest online streaming for this film.
Also, “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”(2006) will also be available on “Hulu” on the same day as well.

“Mirai”, which will appear for the first time on the paid streaming service website, is a fantasy about the time travel journey revolving around the family of the 4 years old boy, who was troubled by his new born younger sister, after he encountered his younger sister that came from the future.
Other than winning the Best Animation Award in the 42nd Japan Academy Film Prize, it was also nominated as the Best Animated Feature Film in the 91st Academy Awards. It also won the Best Animated Feature — Independent in the 46th Annie Awards, also known as the “Anime Industry Academy Award”, making it to become a popular film worldwide.

On the other hand, “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” is a recompilation film of the same-name novel by Tsutsui Yasutaka. It depicts the summer youth story of the young girl, who obtained the “Time Leap” ability that allows her to go to the past.
This film has also won various local and international awards including the Best Animation Award in the 30th Japan Academy Film Prize and Special Distinction for Feature Film in the 31st Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
