“Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop” is an original anime which depicts a summer of youth for boys and girls with the keywords of "voice" and "music" as its theme.. The anime is a youthful graffiti of a boy Cherry, who can only express his feelings through haiku, and Smile, a girl with a facial mask who cannot overcome her complex about her appearance. The director is Ishiguro Kyouhei, who is known for “Your Lie in April” and “Children of the Whales”, and this is his first original movie. Here at Anime!Anime!, we conducted an interview with director Ishiguro Kyouhei, who produced his original movie that the fans have been waiting for. We asked him to talk about his wish on what he wanted to create, his motif choice (music, haiku, etc.) his special favor on vividness of color and music with originality, and his future vision in regards to work in the future. [Interview and Article Written By: Tanaka Shinobu] ■ This was your first original movie. What did you hope to express? Director Ishiguro Kyouhei ※The actual release date is Thursday, July 22, 2021. There was an error in the release date. ---This was the first original movie for you (Director Ishiguro). How did the plan come to fruition in the beginning? Ishiguro: After completing the broadcast of “Your Lie in April”, Flying Dog offered me a position to produce “an original movie closely related to music”. I believe it was around 2015. I already came up with a plot for “musical movie with strong Sci-Fi factors”, but I preferred to “make a movie with realistic factors” more, so my plan shifted this way. ---How did you choose your staff, including Satou Dai (script writer)? Ishiguro: A year after the start of the plan, I was stuck with the progress, since I was not sure how to put things that I want, including what I wanted to do, and what I want to express, into the story. I offered Satou Dai-san, who I had a personal connection with, to participate in the production, and asked him to write “a positive story with the theme-music”. I started to decide character designs, brought this plan to SIGNAL.MD, and started to gather staff. I started to do this, because I felt that an environment with staff will make something move forward. ---How did you make the story with Satou Dai? Ishiguro: My order to Dai-san was “to set the story in the real world” and “a group drama similar to ‘The Goonies’”. To make a group drama evident, we set the story in a shopping mall in a rural area filled with paddy fields, and the protagonist became a boy living nearby. The plot at the point was already similar to “The Goonies” and had no factor of romance that the final version has. ※”The Goonies” is an American movie released in 1985, which depicted the adventures of a group of juveniles “The Goonies”, who are looking for pirate treasure. ---At what point did you choose to have “boy meets girl” as the center of the story? Ishiguro: The story was already well-made at the point of the scenario, but there was the perspective that pointed out the lack of impact toward the audience. So we kept the main part of the story and started to focus on Cherry and Smile, instead of making the movie a group drama. Also, I am a big fan of Dai-san’s music, so I took in music as an important factor of the movie. ---Smile wears a facial mask to hide her teeth that stick out and Cherry is too shy, etc.. The movie seems to have “complex” as the theme. Ishiguro: I love drama of children building up their own personality. So “romance” is a small factor in this movie, and I created the story so the characters overcome things that they don’t like about themselves. What I finally wanted to tell was that things that you personally don’t think are sometimes an appealing factor for others. I want the audience to be encouraged about whatever complex they may have after watching the movie. ■ Reason of choosing the motifs-Haiku, Mask, Vocabulary, and Music. ---A heroine with a facial mask is not so popular in anime, but she was so appealing. Ishiguro: I was certain about that. I was sure that I can make her appealing and cute in the anime, although it might be a bit difficult in a live-action movie. When her design was complete, her teeth were sticking out a little bit when her mouth was closed, and that was cute, as she was like a small animal. I can relate to her, because I also have teeth sticking out from my mouth, and I didn’t like it. ---I believe that facial expression is an important factor for character design but Smile hides half of her face with a mask. What did you struggle about her direction? Ishiguro: That was the point that I had to work on. I was certain that I can make her cute, but was not sure if I can express her emotions with her mouth being hidden. But when I looked up on the method of creating emoji, I realized that Japanese read the emotions from “eyes”, while Europeans understand as “mouth”. So I decided to bet on that knowledge. I tried to design her eyes based on her emotions, whether she is happy or sad. Also, since Smile is an energetic, optimistic boy, I chose to deliver his personality with full motion of his body and his actions. ---The balance between modern items like SNS and nostalgic items like a record was fantastic. Ishiguro: There will be SNS, but also picture label records... This image, depicted in the key visual, was solidified from the beginning. Picture labels (discs with not only text, but also multi-colored photos, pictures, etc.) are an important item on records, but I used them simply because I like them (laughs). A picture of the record of “Love Call HIROKO” by Yakushimaru Hiroko (Ishiguro’s personal belonging) ---Why did you chose “haiku” as one of your motifs? Ishiguro: Itou Seikou-san once advocated, “Haiku is the origin of Japanese rap” and he continued, “haiku rhymes and is sampling. This is the complete hip-hop”, and I got inspiration from this. Cherry's haiku is written by real high school students. It is fresh, young, and has momentum unique to their age. ■ Color with vividness-unrealistic color of exaggeration Ishiguro: This coloring is 100% my hobby. I love Suzuki Hidehito-san and Watase Seizou-san, one of the best illustrators from the 1980’s. I like to structure the design with silhouette, not with details, and that appears evident in the movie. The picture record of “FOR YOU” by Yamashita Tatsurou, which Suzuki Hidehito designed (personal belonging of director Ishiguro) ---Coloring is an important factor of choosing a movie’s style, and that for this movie is more like a vivid, exaggerated use of color than reality. Ishiguro: In my opinion, it would be good if the color were to take a certain leap and become a part of the character of the film, rather than conforming to reality. Shadow follows the same logic. Shadow can be absent on necessary scenes, and doesn’t have to be black. I did not direct vivid color, but art director Nakamura Chieko-san was the master of abnormal colors (laughter) and made it into an interesting use of color. ---I felt your "color" was evident in addition to use of color throughout the movie. Which point did you care more about? Ishiguro: All movies that I produced killed characters in the story. So I advocated that I don’t want my first original work sad and dark. I want to have my story positive and end happy. Dai-san agreed with me. ---After producing this movie, did you find anything that you want to improve as a creator? Ishiguro: When I was producing works with original work, I thought I don’t need much of my personality. It is because it is important to pick up necessary points from the original work and convert it into animation. The original movie is completely from it. There is no original work first of all, and I have to express what I want to do and create from it. Because I create with my ideas, and uniqueness and favorites are important for me. The trend of recent years is to express what is shown in the original work to became the good director, rather than “expressing the personality of a director” in the anime. But back then, when I was a student, I produced “what I can call my own work”, I think I remembered what I was doing by producing this anime. It was a difficult but happy experience. I want to produce more original works in the future. ---That is wonderful words for the fans. Ishiguro: If I don’t do that, I don’t know why I chose this job. I want to participate in the anime with original works as an illustrator and other jobs. But I decided not to produce anime with original work any more. I want to express myself strongly in the future.
“The Crocodile Who Dies in 100 Days" depicts the daily life of a crocodile and its death in 100 days. The movie "The Crocodile Who Lived for 100 Days" is based on this book, and in addition to the message of the original, it is a film with original episodes about the friends after the 100 days. It is a story that will resonate with more people now than ever, as it overlaps the lives of the characters with their daily lives and sense of values that have been changed by the corona pandemic. For this interview, we asked Kamiki Ryunosuke, who plays Crocodile, Tomoya Nakamura, who plays Mouse, and Subaru Kimura, who plays Mole, to share their thoughts on the appeal of the film and the "friends" it portrays. [Interview and text by Noshita Nao, photography by Ayumi Fujita]. ■Characters as realistic as in a live-action movie --First of all, please tell us about your memories of playing the characters and what you were particular about. Kamiki: I was thrilled to be able to create the impression of the crocodile character with my own voice. I was able to decide how high or low my voice should be, and how I should speak, so I had to think about the balance between my voice and that of my other best friends, including Mouse, which was both difficult and fun because of the freedom. The director ordered me to "talk as if I were with my best friends in a good, carefree way" and "use the pauses and tension of a crocodile talking in a relaxed, natural voice", so I was conscious of this when I was acting. Nakamura: Mouse oozes kindness in its actions and blank spaces, and it is a character that is sensitive and observant of its surroundings, but I felt that it has an overall air of bluntness. With that in mind, I tried to keep my voice expression as plain as possible. Kimura: From the time I read the original story, I had the impression that Mole was a bit like an older brother to his best friends. He's mature and has a sense of perspective. He wears a hoodie and looks a bit naughty, but I tried to keep the first impression I had of him and play him with a cool, unflappable air. Kamiki: I've worked with Tomo-kun before in "March come in like a Lion" and "Shijinsou no Satsujin" and we've become good friends, so I believed in our bond, and I tried my best to create the atmosphere of Crocodile and Mouse who have known each other since childhood. I worked with Subaru-kun about 15 years ago in "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Dinosaur 2006". At the time, I was in the sixth grade of elementary school and Subaru-kun was the closest to me in age among the cast, so he treated me like an younger brother. I have known him since I was a child, so I felt at ease with him, and it was really fun to act with him. Nakamura: I've never met Subaru-kun before, but I knew him from Ryu, and he was very frank when I met him. He doesn’t seem like it but he is actually younger than me. Kimura: That's right (laughs). Nakamura: If you asked him to, he would even play the character of the anime he was in charge of. It was a lot of fun to post-record with such a fun group of people. Kimura: I was happy to be able to try something new that I had never done before, because it was a work that required a reality similar to that of a live-action movie, which is a little different from the animation I usually do. ■Heart-wrenching original episodes --The second half of the story takes place 100 days after the death of the crocodile. This will be an original episode for the film that is not in the original story. What are your impressions after watching it? Kamiki: After an event that changes your daily life, there are people who try to be positive, people who can't be positive, people who don't even try to be positive, and people who don't even want to look forward. I was wondering how the stopped time of those people would pass and how they would handle things. In fact, when you see it in the video, after the loss of Crocodile, the friends realize that they should not have taken for granted what they did before . That scene made my heart ache. I could feel the director's message that "the corona pandemic has made the ordinary not ordinary anymore. Also, depending on how you spent your time with the crocodile and how you feel about it, the way you feel about it afterwards will change. I thought it was wonderful that the story carefully depicted these aspects. Nakamura: I think when you build a house, you need four pillars. The addition of original episodes to the film adaptation of the original story made the pillars thicker and stronger, and I felt that it had a synergistic effect. As Ryu-kun just said, the message became much easier to convey, and I felt more familiar with the heart-breaking moments. Kimura: On the day of the recording, the director told me, "I was actually thinking of putting in 80% to 90% of what is depicted in the original story and making the rest original. But the corona pandemic has severed the ties between people, and it is no longer unrealistic to expect people to die. That's why I decided to make half of the story about Crocodile living for 100 days and the other half a new one. After I listened to him say this and watched the film again, I realized that even though Crocodile did not appear in the film, I could feel his presence all the time. I thought it was a wonderful story that gave me a sense of sadness and warmth. --How did you feel about the existence of an original character named Frog? Kamiki: I was looking forward to seeing how Hiroki (Yamada) would play the role. When I actually saw him, I was really impressed. The character himself is cute and easy to watch, but I think the presence of the Frog helped convey the director's message. Nakamura: It's not about Frog himself, but it was interesting to see how nervous Yuki was during the recording (laughs). I thought it was a character that Yuki seemed to be good at, so I've always wondered why he was so nervous. Kimura: The existence of Frog itself is a foreign substance to his friends, isn't it? But he also has a past, and he came to an unknown town. I was touched when the reason for his arrival was revealed, and I thought it was a reminder that we shouldn't judge people by their appearance when we translate it into the human world. →Next page: [What do the three of you think of "friends"?] ■A companion is someone you instinctively and naturally feel comfortable with. --Crocodile and his friends are very natural, aren't they? I thought it was wonderful that they were together when they wanted to be, but also that they had a good sense of distance. Throughout the film, what kind of existence do you think friends are? Kamiki: It's not just people who have the same goal ......, is it? Kimura: That's right. It's not like we're friends because we're together. Kamiki: Yes. But there are people you haven't kept in touch with at all, and even though you haven't seen them in a while, they haven't changed. Kimura: Yes, there are. Even if you only see them once every six months or so, the atmosphere quickly becomes casual and friendly. Kamiki: From the perspective of the relationship between Crocodile, I think people who naturally and instinctively feel that they will be with these people forever are their friends. When I try to come up with a definition, I feel it's not right. So I guess you could say that people who you can instinctively imagine being with are your friends, without having to define them. Kimura: Kamiki-kun, do you have someone like that? Kamiki: Yes, I do. Nakamura: I don't have anyone. Kamiki: ...... Do you want to form a comedy group with the 3 of us? Nakamura: Please do not forget to put "......" for the silence before his words . Kamiki (laughs). Even though I was playing Crocodile, I instinctively thought that the people I was with were my friends. I mean, Crocodile and his friends don't have anything. Sometimes we get together to have fun, but we don't always have a purpose. I guess that's what makes us friends, to be together without being aware of it. Nakamura: If I were in a group, I would definitely be in the position of Mouse. I thought so from the first time I read the script, and that's why I didn't do anything in the play. Kamiki: What do you mean " I'm Mouse, aren't I”? Nakamura: That's right. He is not like Crocodile, who is always in the center of the action, but he is also not like Mole, who takes care of others. I don't know what he is thinking, but when he joins in, he joins in; when he pulls back, he pulls back; sometimes he cares, sometimes he doesn’t care. I am definitely Mouse. From now on, please call me "Mouse Senpai”. Kimura: I was envious of their relationship. I don't have any friends with this kind of relationship. Nakamura: You seem to have the most friends out of the three of us. Kimura: It's not what it seems (laughs). There are many people I know, acquaintances, people I can talk to openly. But there's no one I can call my best friend, even though we have nothing in common. Crocodile and his friends live close to each other, don't they? Nakamura: That's right, we've been together since elementary school, haven't we? Kimura: Yes, yes. It's the kind of relationship where you can go to that park after dark and see if everyone is there. But for me, my best friends from school live in different places, and there's no place for us to get together. I formed a theater troupe with my high school friends and we are still active, but they are more like family than friends. So, I really envy those friends who don't have to do anything. I would like to make such friends in the future. ■Do you have many small bits of happiness in your daily life? --This story also made me realize that there is a lot of small bits of happiness in our daily lives. What small happiness do you feel in your daily life? Kamiki: In a game, when my account appeared on the screen of a live broadcast of a competition held by YouTubers, and I got the top ranking and my name was called. I was like, "I just got called!” Nakamura: Can anyone participate in that tournament? Kamiki: You can participate, but you have to make a certain amount of effort to win. It's fun to watch the competition on my smartphone and think, "I'm in the picture!” When I get on the ranking list, they call out my name and rank, so I tell my friends about it and feel happy. Kimura: That's quite a blessing, isn't it? Nakamura: What game is that? Kamiki: "Mario Kart". Nakamura: I play games too, but I've never done anything like Ryu. ...... My small happiness is that I finish work at 9p.m. It makes me feel like I'm done early. So, ....... Kimura: Today too? (laughs). Kamiki: Please write "He looks at the time on his cell phone" (laughs). --By the way, what is your golden schedule after you finish work at 21:00? Nakamura: I like to take a relaxing bath, so I think my golden schedule starts when I realize that I can finish my work before 9 p.m. If it's late at night and the next day is also early, I can't do that because I prioritize sleep. Kamiki: Please write down "glancing at his cell phone" (laughs). Nakamura: Everyone bursts into laughter, applauds, and the hoisting up begins. Kamiki: It won't start (laughs). Nakamura: In the bath, I read manga and scripts, and play music and the radio while I'm soaking. Kamiki: That's good, isn't it? Kimura: I have a lot of small happiness. When I press the button on the elevator and the door opens immediately. When a beautiful woman gives me a "like" on Instagram. When you see a beautiful woman next to you on the train you got on. Kamiki Two thirds of them are related to beautiful people. Kimura: Also, when I can finish eating a kebab without getting your hands dirty. Nakamura: Wouldn't you be happy if the lettuce didn't come out in the first bite of a hamburger? Kimura: I'm happy! But this kind of happiness often passes without us being aware of it, so I try to think of it as "lucky". Recently, I've been using a machine that sprays alcohol on my hands, and the moment I hold my hand up, alcohol comes out. Nakamura: There's so many! Kimura: Yes! Also, when someone comes to the door of my apartment building and opens the door before I can turn the key. Kamiki: When the sensor doesn't respond to my movement, I often wonder if I'm human. Kimura: Also, when I finish wiping my buttocks clean with just one roll of toilet paper, that's the best! Nakamura: For Subaru-kun, please use the topic of toilet paper (laughs). "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X" (hereafter, known as HameFura X) is one of the anticipated anime of July. This time, Anime! Anime! had interviewed Uchida Maaya (the voice of the main protagonist Katarina Claes) and Okasaki Miho (the voice of the young woman who loves Katarina). This article will present the interview with Okasaki Miho (voice of Mary). Mary is deep in love with the main protagonist, Katarina until she wants to hog her to herself. As it seems that the "expression of love" of Mary is more than season 1, we had asked Okasaki-san on the voicing situation of the heart throbbing scenes that would make you smile unexpectedly. We had also asked about her impression of Uchida-san and the type of story that she would want to create if Mary is the main protagonist of it. The pointer of season 2 is "Love"! -- The broadcast of the season 2 of "HameFura" has finally started. Could you please introduce again the charms of the character, Mary Hunt? Okasaki: The charm of Mary is her "honesty". She is quite cool and I respect her a lot as she is able to tell others her thoughts honestly. -- What's the situation during the recording of season 2? Is there any situations of the studio or behavior of yourself or the other performers that left a deep impression in you? Okasaki: There are more "expression of love" scenes of Mary toward Katarina in season 2, so I have received a lot of this direction from the audio director, which is "Please show more of your performance" (haha)! Due to the current situation where the recording can only be done with a small group of people, it allows me to talk more than usual to my seniors, who are voicing the characters that Mary interact a lot, such as Maaya-san and Suzuki-san. So, I am quite happy on this. --Please tell us the highlights of season 2. Or is there any situation that you are looking forward to? Okasaki: The highlight of season 2 is "Love". As there are more heart throbbing scenes when compare to season 1, it makes me to smile unexpected sometime during the recording. Those scenes would make you have the thoughts of "Even the dull Katarina would notice this right...?", so I hope that all of you would be able to enjoy the developments of "HameFura X" together with the "love"! -- What did you focus more when voicing Mary in season 2 compare to season 1? Okasaki: I think that the appeal to Katarina had further expedited from season 1(haha). I will do my best in it! If there is a story featuring Mary as the main protagonist, then... -- What is the episodes or lines of your character that had left a deep impression in you from season 1? Could you also tell us the reason for it? Okasaki: I actually have a lot, but... if I have to choose, it would be the encounter scene with Katarina-sama in episode 2. It has been sometime since we last saw the child Mary, but I believe it is due to her pessimistic personality that allows her to encounter Katarina-sama as well as to have to have a better growth, so I think this is quite a lovely moment. Okasaki: This is a turning point for her, so I had put a lot of efforts in this scene. -- For season 1, the short voice drama that depicts the character perspective has been released, but if there is a story featuring Mary as the main protagonist, what type of story would you like to see? Okasaki: I want to see it filled with the cuteness of Mary! She normally wears the orange dress, but I would like to see her in a pink or white cute dress. I want a romantic story of the two, where of course Katarina will be playing the prince role in the male clothing. I hope that Katarina would be fine... (haha). -- As we had interviewed Uchida Maaya-san for this project as well, could you tell us your thoughts on Uchida-san? Please tell us if you have any memorable episodes. Okasaki: Maaya-san always talks to me while smiling, so she is a cute and kind senior to me! During the recording, she is known as the "Maaya-san Time" as you will fall for her coolness, so I adored her as a voice actor and a female! --As a conclusion, could you provide a message to everyone? Okasaki: "HameFura X" has finally started! I am also quite excited toward the broadcast of season 2 as I have put in a lot of efforts when voicing Mary. So, let's enjoy this summer together with Katarina-sama, who devoted herself to the life of the otome game! Please support both Mary and "HameFura X"!
The long-awaited season 2 of the TV anime "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X" (hereinafter, Hamefura X) has been started in July. This time, in addition to Uchida Maaya who plays the main character Catarina, we at Anime!Anime! also interviewed Okasaki Miho who plays Mary Hunt, Catarina's love rival. In this article, we will deliver an interview with Uchida Maaya, who plays Catarina. Uchida-san said that in season 2, Catarina, who overcame the "all routes" in season 1, was careful not to become too quiet. Meanwhile, she said for episode 1 of season 2, "I am ready to play Catarina." Maybe she decided to play ''the inner Catarina"...? We talked about various things. [Interview / text: Anime! Anime! Editorial department Photo: Ohara Souta] To make the "Catarina-ness" stand out more ーーSeason 2 has finally started. Please tell us the highlights or something interesting about episode 1 of season 2. Uchida: Jabbering "Hamefura" is back! The point is that you can see the depth beyond the world where Catarina lives. I would like you to see what will happen to Catarina and others later, after the released PV. This work is suitable for the words "with tears and laughter", so please look forward to it! Was there any unique about the recording sessions for the season 2? Please tell us anything that you remember, from about yourself up to anything memorable about others. Since the actors have experienced season 1, I thought the reaction from the direction booth was very important. I tried my best to "make any words from the direction booth real", rather than hoping that the direction would make the acting better. If the reaction of the Kameyama sound directors was good, I was doing a gut pose in my heart, saying "OK!". While everyone was working intensively, I relied on the laughter that I heard leaking out. It's a very nice place for bright laughter. ーーI think that Catarina, played by Uchida-san, really changed after everything happened in season 1. Is there anything particular about performing in season 2 comparing with season 1? Uchida: Catarina, who overcame the "dead end" in season 1, was careful not to become too quiet. After that, I was hoping that the explosive feelings or and interesting parts of season 1 will become more refreshing in season 2. I hope to make stand out more a new side of Catarina, which is not like her. Catarina has a lot of things to perform, and in season 2, all the cast members couldn't get together to do recording, so the point was how to play the fun that comes from the interactions. It was difficult. What would you do if you play a new "Inner Catarina"? ーーPlease tell us about episodes and lines that made the most influence on your character in season 1. Also, please explain the reason. Uchida: The story of Acchan was very impressive. I think scenes of farewell to her previous life or of Catarina trying to go toward the future were memorable. "Hamefura" is a so-called "reincarnation anime", and it is the world of "FORTUNE LOVER" with that premise, so there was a farewell scene that Catarina could decide to live in this world. I think it was a very important scene for Catarina to come back to where everyone was waiting. Apart from that, the large amount of dialogue in one episode left a strong impression on me (laughs). After episode1, I was determined to play Catarina, I felt like "I'll do it!" ーーSpeaking of "Hamefura", Catarina's brain meeting is a special thing. I think it's a rare case to play various different personalities of the same character, how have you managed it? Uchida: Actually, there were people who referred to Catarina 5, and I was wondering what kind of character I should go with during the dubbing of season 1, but I also wondered how bearish Catarina would with that person. I've been fleshing out more and more from the cast's plays, and now I have Catarina 5. It's up to you to imagine who hit which Catarina! ーーBy the way, do you have a personality that you would like to play like this, assuming that you can create a new inner Catarina? Please tell us the reason. Uchida: Right... It's like Snufkin. I'm holding it diagonally, but I like Catarina, who says an important word when it happens, and everyone reacts, "That's it!". ーーIn this project, we are also interviewed Okasaki Miho. What kind of person is Okasaki-san from Uchida-san's point of view? Please let tell us about any memorable moments. Uchida: Since we are from the same office, we've met a lot, so I feel that she is growing very much. I really like the way how those two collide with each other through trial and error, and I want to help them because there is a part that overlaps with me. I'm on good terms with Matsuoka-kun, and while having that kind of friendliness, I think it's nice to be able to express opinions without hesitation. I want her to grow bigger and bigger from now on. One of the most striking events was that I brought clothes that I didn't wear in the office, and at that time I brought them first (laughs). During this time, the clothes may come to the scene and my hobbies may match, so I hope that I will absorb various things from me. ーーAt last, could you please leave a message for readers? Uchida: I'm thrilled because it's season 2 which I've been waiting for. Both OP and ED are cool, and it is done in "Hamefura" style, and I think it would be great if you will look forward to the characters to appear one after another and the story developing. Not only the Giords but also each of Catarina 5 is doing their best. Maybe not only Catarina 5 but also the characters I play will increase (laughs). Please look forward to it.

* There will be spoilers in the main part of "FGO", so please be careful if you want to avoid spoilers. In anime and manga, characters' popularity and topics tend to be biased toward the main character side and heroes. However, "light" looks bright and shining only because "shadow" exists. The 14th part of "Villians Retsuden: What is Their Aesthetics?", which focuses on enemy characters, approaches the charm of Solomon, King of Magic, from "Fate / Grand Order". The movie adaptation of the smartphone RPG game "Fate / Grand Order (FGO)", "Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity - Grand Temple of Time: Solomon" has been released on July 30. "FGO" is an app game with a huge amount of text, and the anime adaptation is produced by picking up popular stories from all episodes. This "Solomon" depicts the final boss in the final battle of the first part. "FGO" is a story of reviving human history after being burnt. The final boss, Solomon, King of Magic, is a person who re-questions the way humans and human history should be. He can be called the fully complete character, who perfectly shows if humans are worth living, and if so, why they are worth living. Here, let's briefly summarize the footsteps of the main character and Solomon so that even those who have not played the game will understand. Finis Chaldea, a human resources continuity guarantee agency that aims to perpetuate the history of humankind, finds out that people will be extinct in 2016 for some reason. The cause is the seven Holy Grail sent by the King of Magic Solomon in the past. By using the Holy Grail and sending them to a turning point of human history, Solomon plans to create a singularity that disturbs human history to change all human history. The protagonist makes a ray shift in the past to regain history as it is and challenges the battle to collect the Holy Grail with many spirits. And the hero who finished collecting the seven Holy Grail will finally confront Solomon, at The Grand Time Temple, which is the home of Solomon. From here on, spoilers for the main part of "FGO" start, so please be careful if you want to avoid spoilers. Solomon possesses abilities of clairvoyance. It allows him to see into every past and future. With the abilities, he witnessed all tragedies and stupid despairs of human history. However, it is said that Solomon himself did not have human sensibility because he was a creature who was appointed as a king from the time he was born. If he actually is such an existence, he cannot fall into despair no matter what he sees. The true identity of Solomon, King of Magic, is Goetia, King of Demon Gods who is controlling 72 demons. Goetia calls himself "Solomon's alter ego", with who he shared his consciousness with the clairvoyant, so he saw the past and future of humankind. And although Solomon has no human heart, he is different. Overwhelmed by the tragedy and despair of human history, he mourned and started to think that people are imperfect and could never overcome their stupid acts, and decided to rebuild the planet of mankind. Goetia's purpose is not to eliminate humankind. Its purpose is to recreate the entire history of mankind and create a world without the concept of death. It's a very grand plan and the motives are easy to understand. In short, he came up with the idea that "people are stupid." If you can't overcome the stupidity through reviewing everything from the past to the future, you have to recreate everything from scratch. The "Fate" series is based on the idea of summoning and using heroes of past as your heroes. There are various reasons why someone is called a hero, but it is not uncommon for a hero to have a plethora of blood behind his success. Charlie Chaplin said in the movie "Monsieur Verdoux", "If you kill one, you're a murderer, if you kill a million, you're a hero.", and there are many of the heroes in history who are certainly those who were active on the battlefield. It seems that Goetia has a grudge against those who have suffered behind the success of such heroes' actions. The main character of "FGO" summons and fights with the hero, which is why he deserves to be the last enemy of this story. The story is questioning, are heroes really valuable? and doesn't the horrifying tragedy of human history will never disappear because of that? Saying that one hero costs the lives of one million people is certainly pushes the inequality of life. The new world that Goetia is trying to create is a world without this inequality. The story of "FGO" has a structure in which the purpose is to lead and destroy the spirit, which is exactly the product of inequality (from Goetia's point of view). So how can we affirm this world with heroes and so many tragedies? This is the question of this battle. True Solomon, who confronts Goetia, tells him: "Life has the end. Life is a pilgrimage that accumulates suffering. But it is not a story of death and severance. It is a thing that confronts death and severance with a limited life. It is a thing that repeats farewell and encounters while knowing the end. A brilliant, twinkling, momentary journey. This is called the story of love and hope. " Goetia says that human life without a way to avoid death is scary at all costs, but Solomon says that human life is beautiful because it has the end. The last thing that beats Goetia is the hero's willingness to live his finite life to the fullest, the desire to "just live for himself." It is said that because the genre d'Arc is a spirit of soul, he is trapped in his greed and cannot bend his belief. Then, Goetia himself awakens to that desire and changes from " King of Demon Gods" to "Human King Goetia". At that point, he knew that his life was running out and he couldn't help at all. Nevertheless, he challenges the hero to the final game. The game has no rational meaning. It is a desire to fight with nothing but a will. The appearance of Goetia at this time is beautiful. It is exactly what Solomon said, "A moment of a blinking star." And the beauty of that moment is completed by being defeated by the main character. Human history is a series of such finite tragedy and beauty of life. Goetia proved it by being defeated by the main character. It's a wonderful way to draw a curtain. The stage event of the TV anime "Mr. Osomatsu" season 3 was held on the Avex Pictures Booth Stage on "AnimeJapan 2021" that was held online on March 28, 2021. Sakurai Takahiro as Osomatsu and Kamiya Hiroshi as Choromatsu both appeared in the jacket of each character's color, and have a special talk prior to the finale episode. TV anime "Mr. Osomatsu" season 3 that started broadcast in October 2020 has ended in episode 25 on March 29. The first topic is the most impressive episode. The episode that Sakurai recommended is episode 17 "Imoni". It was supposed to be a story about them cooking the thick potato, but they ended up becoming a thick potato in the end. Toward Sakurai-san comment of "I love how I get the feeling of Osomatsu from this", Kamiya-san retorted "There is no scarier story than that". The chosen episode of Kamiya is episode 15 "Cosplaymatsu". The reason is because of the pitiful appearance of Osomatsu Oji-san acted by Sakurai and the Quintuplets that is role-playing as children. Sakurai mentioned that this is an episode that got people saying "This is an accomplished by all the team members on the field". The next corner is "Osomatsu's Case Files". The true worth of Mr. Osomatsu" is the comedy, but season 3 contains a lot of episodes involving Osomatsu and Choromatsu. Episode 18 "Just Don't", episode 15 "Cosplaymatsu", episode 23 "Friend", and others were chosen by the audiences as the "This is a case!" and popular episodes as most of it is featured Choromatsu being teased. However, toward the question "What's your recent event?", Kamiya mentioned that recording session involved less people due to coronavirus while Sakurai told how he almost die after tripping on a low step. After that, the corner "Oekaki Senshuukken (The best drawer)" featuring Sakurai and Kamiya drawing their own character was held. Within the time limit of 1 minute, Sakurai had revealed "F6 Osomatsu" while Kamiya had revealed Choromatsu. Their illustration was praised by the audiences, and after both of them signed on the illustration, it will be used as a lottery prize among the Mr. Osomatsu fan-club members. The last corner is the talk on the final episode after reviewing the past "Mr. Osomatsu", such as season 1, season 2, and the film. While mentioning about the "Big prediction on the finale of season 3 campaign", the corner got to hype up by the predictions by the cast members and the audiences. Mostly of the cast members and audiences predicted that it will end with a "death explosion". So, do check out the final episode of "Mr. Osomatsu" season 3 that was broadcast on March 29. The final episode/ episode 25 of the TV anime "Mr. Osomatsu" was broadcast at 1:35 AM, on March 29, on TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, and TV Osaka. The first key visual has been released from "Record of Ragnarok", which will be adapted into a TV anime in 2021. At the same time, additional cast members including Saito Souma, Sakurai Takahiro, and Suwabe Junichi were revealed. This work is an anime project of "Record of Ragnarok" written by Azichika, original story by Umemura Shinya, and composition by Fukui Takumi, which has been serialized in "Monthly Comic Zenon" since 2018. The representatives of gods from all over the world vs. the human representatives will play a one-on-one "Taiman" game (versus match) of 13 against each other for the survival of humanity. In the first key visual, three representatives of gods and three representatives of humanity are facing each other, representing a scene where a heated battle is about to begin. Additional cast members and character visuals have also been announced. Adam will be played by Saito Souma, Sasaki Kojiro by Yamaji Kazuhiro, Poseidon by Sakurai Takahiro, Hermes by Suwabe Junichi, Heimdall by Nozuyama Yukihiro, Odin by Hayama Shou, Shiva by Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Aphrodite by Tanaka Rie, Loki by Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Ares by Tadokoro Hinata, Huginn by Nakano Taisuke, and Muninn by Yamaguchi Tomohiro. Cast comments have also arrived from each cast member. In addition, the ED theme will be "Inevitable" by Shimajii. Along with the release of the song information, the artist's comments have also arrived. Saito Souma (Adam) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? It's a very passionate and magnificent story, and I felt its extraordinary energy. I started reading it at the time of the audition, but I was so hooked that I read it all at once. Every battle has its own drama, and even when you think it's settled, it's not over yet. I love how the story changes rapidly with each page. The characters who haven't fought yet are all fascinating, and as a reader, I'm looking forward to reading more! Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? At first glance, it is difficult to understand what Adam is thinking, and he seems to be a dullard, but I think he is actually a person with deep and warm affection. He has very few lines, so I hope you can feel his subtleties even in those lines. Speaking of "Record of Ragnarok", the most impressive part is the tremendous battle scenes. I'm looking forward to seeing the physical battle with Zeus! Yamaji Kazuhiro (as Sasaki Kojiro) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? God versus man! What a psychedelic theme (although many people may be too old to understand what it is). And why is "Sasaki Kojiro" here? Well, this old man never ceases to amaze me. Q2: What do you think of the character you are playing and how enthusiastic are you about the role? I'm so grateful to have found this role! Long live Kojiro. Sakurai Takahiro (Poseidon) Q1: What do you think of this anime? I thought it was a very interesting work with a uniquely Japanese approach that is not bound by the image of God. The match-ups between gods and humans are austere, and the way the victories and defeats are portrayed is amazing, and the drama of the characters through their struggles is exciting! Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? He is an arrogant, painfully cold character. Poseidon is the ruthless embodiment of the idea that gods are gods, with dark, murderous eyes. I want to do my best to express his overwhelming power. Suwabe Junichi (Hermes) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? A titanic battle between various gods from all over the world, ancient and modern, and humans who have left their names as the strongest in history. I thought it was a work with a very high level of passion. Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? Hermes is a Greek mythological god who is known as a trickster. In this film, he is also a very mysterious and elusive being. As a piece of the story, I would like to contribute to the excitement of the work. Nozuyama Yukihiro (Heimdall) Q1: What do you think of this anime? Just from the title and synopsis, I couldn't stop being excited! I was drawn in more and more by the characters who appeared one after another, representing gods and humanity. Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? Heimdall plays the role of a play-by-play man, but at the same time, he himself genuinely enjoys watching the battles. I want to do my best to bring you a passionate confrontation between gods and mankind! Hayama Shou (Odin) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? The situation where heroes from all eras and mythologies come together is exciting. I think it's a work that gives you a sense of realism and excitement because of its large range of ridiculousness. Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? I had the impression that he was strong and dignified. If you have read the original story, you know that he is a quiet character. I poured my heart and soul into how to bring out Odin's character in the few lines I had to say. Suzuki Tatsuhisa (Shiva) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? Since this is a tie-up between gods and humans, I thought it was a work with a lot of layers of feelings. I also thought that this work would be energizing to read, because each person has a strong character and all of them have a high level of passion. When I was cast, my heart leapt with joy because I could understand the passion of the characters because I had read them. Q2: What is your impression of the character you are going to play and how do you feel about the role? He is belligerent and has a personality like split bamboo. At the moment, I try to think in my mind that I'm going to blow everyone away (laughs). I don't want to lose to anyone in regards to enthusiasm. Tanaka Rie (Aphrodite) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? Once every 1000 years, all the gods of the world gather together and hold a parliamentary meeting to decide whether or not to annihilate the human race. The majority vote decides to annihilate the human race, but Brunnhilde puts up a fight, and at her suggestion, a tie-up between humanity and the gods is decided. The tiebreaker is a game of 13 rounds, and if you win 7 rounds, you can postpone the annihilation of humanity until the next congress, but if you lose, you will be annihilated. The human side is Ryofu, the strongest of the Three Kingdoms, and the god side is Thor from Norse mythology. If you like history or mythology, I recommend it because you will see many famous people from those areas. Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how enthusiastic are you about the role? Aphrodite is just a fascinating person. She is the goddess of beauty in Greek mythology. Her breasts are so big that she can't support herself, so when I saw her being supported by a support person, I honestly found it amusing and laughed. I would like to play her in such a way that viewers will find her attractive. Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (as Loki) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? A battle between gods and humans is too reckless to be considered normal. However, I found it very interesting that the great people and heroes of the past sometimes had powers that rivaled the gods. The battles are also very powerful, and it makes you sit on the edge of your seat. Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? I think Loki is described in mythology as a very crooked person, but I don't know what he is really thinking. Is he just having fun or is there really something else going on? I played up the creepiness of this character. Tadokoro Hinata (Ares) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? It's an intense battle manga that every man would love! It's a battle that seems reckless if you only look at the words, Gods vs. humans. But as the story progresses, it makes you wonder if humans can win too! Once you read it, you won't be able to stop! Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? I played the role of Ares, the god of war. I went into the scene with a lot of ideas about how to play the role, but the sound director, Ebina-san, told me to be more muscular and brainy, so I just recorded it as a muscular idiot who sees things straight (lol). But in a sense, it was difficult to bring out the emotions of such a pure character. Nakano Taisuke (as Huginn) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? It's bloody and exciting. When we live, we are often overwhelmed by unreasonable things, but the human beings who stand up to the gods all push us forward. Don't lose, don't give up. The power to live and the power to resist becomes a tremendous heat that runs through the bodies of the readers and viewers. I think this work is full of hope. Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? My impression of Huginn is that he is, as the old saying goes, "Somewhat unlikeable. Yamaguchi-san, who plays the role of Muninn, and I discussed to what extent he is a "bird" and to what extent he is a supernatural being as we created the role. Although he stands proudly on Odin's shoulders, he reacts honestly to the horror of the gods and the power of human beings. I was conscious of expressing the back and forth between the big attitude and the small balls of the body as a bird. Yamaguchi Tomohiro (Muninn) Q1: What is your impression of this anime? I read the original story when I received the offer, and before I knew it, I had read through the latest volume. The battle scenes where the souls of gods and humans collide are very cool, and I can't wait to see the characters full of individuality in the animation. Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role? I thought she was really cute! I'm part of a pair of ravens accompanying Lord Odin, and I got to speak instead of Odin! LOL! Although I am one part of a pair of ravens, I hope I can play my role in a way that brings out the charm of Muninn, who is different from Huginn, emotionally rich and somehow lovable. Comment from Shimajii My name is Shimajii, and I'm in charge of the ending theme. Thank you very much. It was impossible for me not to be moved by "Gods vs. humanity", and I was captivated by it. I wrote the song based on the image of Adam, my favorite character, and my ally, the Nanahoshi Orchestra, participated in the arrangement. Both the anime and the song are "inevitable" for your viewing pleasure. (C) Ajitika, Umemura Shinya, Fukui Takumi/Core Mix, Record of Ragnarok Production Committee
