Sep. 27 is Tanezaki Atsumi’s birthday.

From 2010 to the present, she has played roles in various titles and won the Best Supporting Seiyu Award at the 14th Seiyu Awards. In 2020, she is playing the main characters in TV anime series and movies, including titles such as “Shadowverse” and “High School Fleet Movie”. Moreover, from now on she will continue to appear in many titles such as “Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai”.

Here, at Anime! Anime! to celebrate Tanezaki Atsumi’s birthday, we conducted a reader survey entitled “Who is your favorite character played by Tanezaki Atsumi?” We received responses from 84 people during the survey period from Sep. 11 to Sep. 18.
The male-female ratio is about 60% for males and about 40% for females, which is a little higher for males. In regards to the age divide, 30% was from minors and about 30% of people in their 20s.

1st place goes to Futaba Rio from “Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai” with an approval rating of about 22%.

Futaba Rio is a classmate of the main protagonist, Azusagawa Sakuta. She is a member of the science club and often wears a lab coat over her uniform. Readers commented, “She is usually cold, but becomes a charming girl when it is about love”, and “I really like how simple Sakuta says, “You are a pig” I felt that Tanezaki-san’s voice brought out the best in her charm.” Fans also liked her singing voice of the theme song, “The Futaba’s version” was also good.

2nd place
2nd place goes to Uotani Arisa from “Fruit Basket” (2019) with an approval rating of about 13%.
Uotani Arisa is a close friend of the main protagonist, Honda Tohru, and has a history of making her debut in a motorcycle gang when she was in elementary school. The gap between her strong-looking appearance and her former yankee high school appearance is popular, “She is a girl with thick skin but fragile inside, and it nice to see how they become friends”, and “Scene where she and Toru become best friends really impressed me.”

3rd place
3rd place is shared between the Dai from “Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken”, Hatori Chise from “The Ancient Magus’ Bride”, and Hozuki Satowa from “Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life”, with the same number of votes. “Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken” is the latest work scheduled to be broadcast from Oct. 3. Many fans are looking forward to it, “I’m looking forward to it because it’s my favorite anime since I was a kid.”

About Hatori Chise, who is studying magic at the house of the witcher Elias, “I love his gloomy voice full with feelings”. However, some readers have the opposite opinion, “I loved the original, but I was surprised that the voice was exactly as I imagined.”, and “Her voice is so innocent”.

In this questionnaire, not only orthodox heroines but also characters with cool charms have been ranked. There are a lot of characters who can be enjoyed in various plays, such as being full of energy and being laid back and mellow.
