“Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru” is an original anime depicting the youthful days of summer inspired by the keyword: “Words x Music”. The anime is directed by Ishiguro Kyouhei, known for his delicate lyrical direction in “Your Lie in April”, “Children of the Whales”, etc.

The story revolves around a Haiku boy, Cherry, who is bad at communicating with others, and his encounter with a girl, Smile, who wears a mask to hide her face at an outskirt shopping mall and how they close the distance between them through words and music.

The main visual depicts Cherry and Smile at the center with characters of various ages on the side under the blue sky. It is a refreshing visual where you can feel the sunshine of summer. A noteworthy point is the scribble “tagging” which shows the marks of the individuals and group on the floor.

The main theme song will be handled by never young beach. They gained their fame through their relatable lyrics and melodies filled with pop and sounds influenced by Western music. They have created the song, Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru, which shares the same name as the movie. Furthermore, Onuki Taeko, a female singer said to be a pioneer in pop music in Japan, will be in charge of the insert song. Her song “YAMAZAKURA” will be used.

Additionally, Kamiya Hiroshi and Sakamoto Maaya were announced to join as additional cast. This is the first time Sakamoto will join in Director Ishiguro's works while Kamiya was previously involved in the work: “Children of the Whales”. It is noteworthy to pay attention to which roles they will take on.
